I have played Tijeras at least 50 times in the past 6 years. I have never had a problem with the staff, or the service and the lay out of the course is second to none. However, the condition of the course has always been an issue. This time of year is by far the best shape she'll be in all year. They always kill the fairway grass in oct. and over seed in nov. and put a ton of water on the course so by christmas it is in great shape. Ofcourse, you will feel it in the wallet. If you play at any other time of the year you will find an inconsistency in the maintainence. Bad greens that are crusty on top and don't hold, but yet are bumpy and slow to putt. Bunkers that hard with little sand on one hole and fluffy sahara on the next with your ball in a fried egg lye. Dried out ruff and fairways. Yep, you can have all of this for 80 bucks during the week and 125 on the weekend. Too bad. It's a great track that's operated by "bottom liners". It should be in much, much better shape for the money and it is the reason I haven't played there since oct.

Played here 12/01/08. The rain before the weekend affected some of the fairways. They were a little muddy in some spots. Still, the greens are some of the best around. Country club quality, for sure. It's nice to go to a public facility and play on well kept greens. Don't get above the hole here and if you do just give a little tap or you'll be six feet by in a heartbeat. I had not heard about the sale of this place. I hope it isn't to american golf or some other corporate affiliation. One thing I have found in all my golf travels is that you can not "bottom line" golf course maintainence. 60 dollar round on sun. was just a great price for this gem
