I played Hidden Valley over the weekend on 5/30/09 for the first time. This is an awesome course, especially for the price ($50). The course was in great shape.. Fairways were in good shape and greens were very fast and rolled true. I have to say the the course is definitely an awesome looking course and well worth the money but is definitely not a scoring course. If you are playing this course for the first time it is definitely going to eat you up a bit.. Front nine is a little easier than the back (shot a 42 on the front, but shot a 50 on the back). You really need to know how the course plays to carry many of they hazards, especially in with the wind. So all in all.... If you are going out to shoot the score of your life, this is not the place to play... It is a 'fun' course to play once in awhile..

You will experience slow play here. It seemed the marshal did everything possible to keep play moving.. it is just a tough course so you have to expect it. Again, it is still worth playing if you haven't tried it yet. Have fun

Gotta say, I was a little reluctant to play this course initially. It was actually a pretty nice surprise. Not a very tough course but definitely worth playing especially if you want to work on your scoring game. As you may have heard it is an executive course with mostly par 3s and 4 par 4s (i think). With that in mind, driver is not an option here except for MAYBE hole #9 (par 4 uphill/ 270ish). It will definitely teach you to lay up here, which is good for any golfer to learn. Greens seemed to be in good condition, fairways were a little tough, but all in all it is a fun course. Some mornings I will go out and get in 18 before work, which will take usually 2 hours with no waits.. On the other hand, with twilight you have to expect slow play here, but still finished in about 3 hours with a 5 minute wait per hole.

For $13 (walking) this course is a steal. If you want to get in a nice fast and fun round, this is the place to go.
