Played on Nov. 23rd and it's been allowed to dry out. I guess they aren't overseeding this year at least it's very late in our seasons for it. Not worth the trip until conditions improve.

Played today 8/15/14. great shape but greens have been punched and are super slow and sandy but at least my 5 hybrid grabs for a change. All the city courses have improved in maintenance and Dell Urich is one of my favorites. fairways are nice and they let the rough grow so it let's you really use those odd chip shots that we usually don't get to on our dry hard summer courses. 2 cart girls on a Friday at 1 p.m.?!? WOW! 20.00 w/ the resident card. Nice to see the city courses back in action. I have 3 consecutive bookings this weekend. Tucson has historically had a great city program forgiving the the last 4 years. It's nice to have it back.

A new management company has been hired by the city and it shows! Dell Urich looks great. The only downside are the stone laden dirt bunkers but a great improvement overall. Greens ran perfect and all was green fairways and rough(trust me on the rough.) Love this course. Hills and doglegs.

Always beautiful. Always a pain in my golfing $%! This is the course the PGA refused to come back to 'cuz it was to hard. Everyone one on this site seems to wind up in Phoenix (which rocks)if they come out to AZ. but there are a few must play courses in southern AZ. and this is one of them. Fun tee shots abound and mean short shots. I know you will be glad to have this experience. Come see the edge of the borderlands.

Played this Mar. 5th. Can't believe the online deal I found, 20.00 for 9 w/ breakfast weekday early bird thing. Played the back 9 what a great course. Well maintained the greens were spectacular and FAST. The breaks were breakin'. Can't wait to go do the full 18. Alot of little hills on every hole and a fair amount of water hazards and well placed bunkers. The heavy rough is hard clay soil so it's interesting. Definitely a go play in Phoenix, Gilbert to be exact. Nice pro shop/restaurant, staff is awesome and a great lit range. Will be going back.

This course has a local reputation as on of the finer courses and the price reflects it at 100 + dollars a round. When I consider a truly fine course it encompasses all the elements you would think on an A+ level. This course is a B. The layout is a nice desert design with alot of target golf/risk reward shots so be prepared for a challenge if not familiar with it. The condition was alright but the greens were quite "splotchy" and the rough is all dried out which is common on city courses but I would have hoped these would be green. The sand is nice and boy are some bunkers DEEP. The biggest let down was the feeling you get from staff and members that you are NOT a member. The staff had me waiting with my bags as they hustled around the members carts and we tee'd off late waiting for the members who get to take their sweet time. All day I had to hear how they like to do their divots with sand and not picking them up , and wait while they picked up stray balls to throw in the trash because they like to keep the desert clean and of course how play each green because they play ALL the time and until we get to know it well... That made me not want to hurry back. For the money Arizona National blows this place away on every level. Just sayin'.

This course was awful the last 2 years. I'm happy to say the new operation is gorgeous again! I forgot my camera but it was like a calender scene. Great news from one of the regions finest courses. Still a challenging lush desert course with some of the best elevated scenes and shots. Hole 18 is priceless. Come on down winter visitors and definitely put this one back on the" to play" list.

Played here on October 11th and play here every fall on my vacation. I really like this course. You'll see reviews talking about the small old clubhouse or the age of different items but the course is HARD! It is super tight but very interesting. It's historical claim is that it was Nixon"s favorite course in the area. Huh.
It is a step above a muni course but no it's not on the TPC rotation. Greens were excellent when I was there and all other areas were solid. Put away the driver on many holes and do what the course demands. it is a placement course with little to no forgiveness on slices or hooks. But it has great layout. Some very Star Wars like tunnels under freeways a local pizza parlor at a tee box that you can ring a door bell on the back fence to get food and drink from actually handed over the fence(awesome!) interesting houses throughout the course and really cool people everywhere. And did I mention it's HARD. There's a par 3 172(?) yds that is STRAIGHT up a hill a BIG hill. WTF do I do with that? Great elevated dogleg right hole forget the number. This course is one of those reasonably priced worthwhile places that winds up becoming a personal mission. I'll be back next year maybe multiple times.

Played here on October 10th and boy was I pleased. What a gorgeous course. Holes are designed with a great variety of challenges. Favorites are 16 the island green par 4. elevated tee shot to a long downhill fairway with a long approach/lay up choice leaving you with a dreaded long pitch from a downhill lie across the water to an elevated green on the island. FUN! They have a par 4 that says not to tee off until the green is clear. This leads you to believe you can drive the green, oh except for those 12 foot deep bunkers all around it that are mostly hidden from the tee box and the hard drop off into a forbidden environmental zone to the right and rear. FUN! this course is great plain and simple. I'll post the photos. Great views are a big deal with me. I like to see a beautiful course since watching my game can be ugly sometimes. The condition was very good when I played. Super moist from rain the day before.

I like this course. Very good shape. Quite a challenging desert canyon course. Very narrow winding fairways with surprises around each hill and turn. Drivers are tricky to use if you don't know the hole. The company owns a few courses locally and they really seem to care about the experience. The 18th is my favorite, par 5 w/ a blind dogleg left to an elevated 2nd shot over a canyon inlet with slopes everywhere. Once you clear the canyon it can still be a 9 iron to the green with hard desert on the left and large slopes elsewhere to a hard sloping green. WOW. Green Valley Arizona has some great courses in our area.

Starr pass is 3 9holes that mix together. A lush desert course with great views. It's a Marriott Hotel and course. Very well maintained and fun. You better like hills and I mean everywhere. Long hills, short hills, hills into hills. The Roadrunner course is big on desert guleys running cross course at various distances 20 feet deep and full of vegetation. Its carved through the foothills here. Alot of elevated tee boxes and elevated fairways as well. Manny approach shots can become a lay up with a 20 foot flop to the green. Excellent golf course. A bit pricey in season but summer rats like me get a fair deal. Worth the rates either way. I'll post some photos. Everybody get out here this winter and play Tucson!

This is in Casa Grande. A small city between Tucson and Phoenix. It was built along with a small resort for the S.F. Giants when they used to train here. Willy Mays enjoyed the course (?). It is a pretty flat course with alot of forgiveness. Green with mature trees being the main challenge. Boasts a Nick Faldo youth camp.1 over water par 3 the other lake has been drained. Another course in the Arizona desert that goes on the why is there a course here list. I do love those though. Not great not awful. worth the 22.00 plus lunch deal if your in the area. I'll post some photos.
