Crooked River Ranch is my home course. I am a novice golfer but play 4 to 5 times a week on this course. The crew is very helpful and lessons with the Pros have really brought my handicap down.
The course itself is beautiful. It is down in a canyon on the Crooked River about 25 miles North of Bend, Oregon. Even though it's high desert here, the lower elevation in the canyon allows for year-round golf. The greens-keepers have the course in excellent condition. There are ponds and waterfalls, river, creeks, and canyons. The only complaint I have is about the ladies tee boxes. You have to find you level spot where you can.
There are some very challenging holes for me: The number one fairway is long and I usually am in the rough. Unless you are a long straight shooter, Par is just a goal. I would be happy with a bogey on this one! The number 7 green is about 25 feet above the fairway and a par 3. We call it the shortest par 5 in Central Oregon. You'll love playing this course whether you are a par shooter, or a beginner.
