This was the first stop on my buddy and I's western Washington/Seattle area golf trip. We stayed at his grandparent's place in Fall City, and teed off at The Home Course at 9:15 the next morning. I had only heard good things about this place going in, but it only got better once we actually arrived.

Views - 17/20
Upon entering the course, I immediately understood that this course was going to be very nice. The big black gates out front, the course name in big steel lettering, and the landscaping lining the driveway were just the first impression of what we were getting into. The course itself featured simple, yet beautifully pure landscapes. It felt as if I was walking through a page of Golf Digest. If I had to describe the overall look of the course in two words, it would be modest prestige. It did not feature anything absolutely breathtaking or jaw dropping, but the attention to detail in the small things made me feel right at home.

Service - 19/20
The service we received at The Home Course was excellent and felt genuine. The two in the pro shop were very kind and told us everything we needed to know. They felt like they really cared about us having a good experience. The starter/marshal also turned out to be a decent guy. At first I thought he was going to be upset with us because we didn't know where the first tee was, and he had to come up to the putting green to find us. It also turned out we were the pacing twosome that day, so no pressure. Luckily there was a slow foursome behind us, so we had no trouble keeping up pace. In the fairway of hole 7 we saw him driving up toward us, and immediately I began racking my brain to think of what we must have done wrong. Instead of lecturing us though, he told us we were doing great on pace, asked how we were liking the course, and where we were from. Overall, he was the one who made round.

Condition - 18/20
The Home Course's condition was top tier. The fairways were perfect, lined with a thicker than usual rough, and tall fescue. The bunkers were soft, with the greenside ones being sod-lined, something I personally don't see very often at home. The greens rolled great, with challenging breaks that are definitely a factor in your approach. The course did feature trees, but most the time they weren't really a factor. Off the tee it was quite open, then challenging around the greens, which I loved.

Clubhouse - 18/20
I really liked the clubhouse at The Home Course. There were two strikingly white, modernized colonial-style buildings with black accents. The clubhouse felt like a statement piece, as they all should be. It told me that this course was going to be very good quality, but that I could also sit down and have a drink with my friends after the round and enjoy the view and the company. The only downsides were that it was relatively small, and I wish the restaurant and pro shop could have been connected. Overall an amazing building, definitely one of my favorites.

Practice Facilities - 17/20
First off, we did not arrive early enough to use the range, but from a distance I could tell that it was grass and had plenty of bays, which is all I can ask out of a range. The putting green was very large, and had every kind of break that you would find on the course. On top of that, there was a smaller putting green right next to the first tee, just in case you're held up and need to kill some time or work something out. Either way, this was a very nice touch. The chipping green also looked excellent. It featured 3 giant bunkers to practice sand shots, and 3 pins on the green itself. Overall very good, and featured everything you would need to get an effective practice session.

The Home Course - 8.9/10
I really enjoyed my round at The Home Course. If I lived in the area I would heavily consider looking into a membership there, and I am definitely going to play it again next summer!
