Played on 12/28 and the day was post card quality. Mid 60's and nothing but sunshine and blue ocean. The course was well maintained and the staff was friendly. Bring extra balls because the course features several holes with narrow fairways and some water features. The holes are essentially stacked in a few rows down a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the views are fabulous on almost every hole. This stacking, however, is what leads to the tighter than average fairways and steep hills at their sides from which an errant shot will not be easily recovered. Greens were a bit slower than expected, but rolled very true and held approach shots well. If you prefer a links course as opposed to a target course experience, this may not be the course for you.

The pro shop and food service facilities were nice. The lockeroom was a bit weird in that you need a code to get in and there are no lockers for use, however I gather that the reason for the code is that the course is required to allow the public use of certain pathways and beach access points while also providing restroom facilities. This code keeps those folks from wandering into the club lockeroom for a quick shower and shave!

I don't think the place is worth $275, but if you can get on for sub $200 it is probably worth the experience. The course wasn't exceptional enough that I'll be back any time soon at these prices, but I am glad that I played it and had the experience. It is what it is, a course for vacationers and those looking for a round with a better view than the one normally afforded by their home course.
