Played Cimmaron the day after Christmas, and was excited to get out to a desert course in the winter.

Upon arrival, we were pleased with the overall setup: drive-up bag check through which staff loaded the clubs onto carts for you. Nice pro shop and friendly staff.

However, once we got to the carts and headed to the range, we were kind of dissapointed. The scorecards were in shoddy condition, like they had been rained on or resused. When we got to the range, we found out that a small bucket of about 20-25 balls is $5. That's completely ridiculous.

We were also surprised to see that their were no starters, marshalls, cart girls, nothing. And on the day after Christmas in the desert, we expected so much more.

The golf course itself was decent at best. Conditions of fairways and greens were pretty good. The greens were quite fast and firm, making them a definite challenge. However, the lay-out was kind of boring and lacked personality. No elevation changes, wide fairways, and bunkers never really came into play, at least not from the set of tees (whites) we played from. It just seemed like every par 4 and 5 were kind of the same.

Overall, I had a fun time playing for the simple fact that I was playing golf in the desert on a holiday in the winter, therefore, nice weather. But the course and the amenities left much to be desired. I certainly wouldn't pay full price to play here again.

The weather was absolutely perfect with temps in the 70's and a slight breeze.

I broke 80 for the first time here yesterday so it is a day to remember!

Played 11/308 and the course was in FINE shape and the greens rolling very well. Played 18 in UNDER 3 hrs so you know it was a great day!!

Cimarron is in good shape from tee to green. Greens are medium speed and hold well struck shots. Wind kicked up to 10-15mph for the front 9 and then calmed down for a perfect back 9.

Cimarron is in good shape from tee to green. Greens are medium speed and hold well struck shots. Wind kicked up to 10-15mph for the front 9 and then calmed down for a perfect back 9.

The course winds through a wash and many holes are similar to one another. Great views of the San Jacinto Mounains and good customer service at Cimarron.

Played yesterday7/5/08 12:30pm tee time.. 113 degree heat!! After awhile you kinda forget because your skin feels like its going to melt off!! Great deal at $25, surprisingly there were many people playing.. The course is fairly basic links style mostly straight holes, trouble to the left and right.. I was shocked that the fairways were in good shape, considering the heat. The traps and tee boxes were nice.. My only gripe of this course is the greens.. Supposedly Cimarron is known for their greens, but when I played yesterday.. They were CRAP.. a few holes on the back 9 had huge dead dirt spots.. NASTY.. SLOW and BUMPY.. But at least the staff was nice..

Played as a single at the Boulder course, with a sweet summer rate of $29. Nice starter and staff. Thet got me on the tee with relative ease even though my 1 1/2 year old made sure I would miss my tee time. The course played very fair. Large fairways with generous landing areas and bailouts were evident on most every hole. Fairways were lush in spots and the greens held pretty well, especially for the middle of June in the desert. Greens were slow, but once again understandable considering the time of year. The course rules state the desert wash and native areas as a free drop, although not too many people paid attention to that and were trying to qualify their carts for the Baja 1000 in the sand. I would play it again in a heartbeat.

Played Saturday with my cousin, brother in law, and uncle. Played the course for 25 with cart. There was a wait on the first tee, but once we were out we did not have to wait. Everyone kept on pace. The course was playing very well. The tee boxes were well kept, the fairways and rough were lush and the greens rolled true. This was a fun course. The only thing I did not like was the nature areas which they told us were free drops. I played from the nature areas anyway. Overall this is a very nice course to play, enjoyed playing with the family, and we will play there again. The pro shop guys were very good and courteous. Since there was a glitch in the system, the guy told us to play some holes on the pebble course to warm up before we went out on the boulder.

Walked the "Pebble" course (par 55) at the crack of dawn. Good customer service, perfect weather and a good way to practice your short game. Finished in 2 hours 15 minutes. "Pebble" isn't kept up as well as the regulation "Boulder" course but it's a good deal and a great walk.
