Great course that is very unique to the SoCal. area. Lots of Burns, sand traps, and waste areas, with very undulated fairways. You will need to play this course once or twice to get the feel for where the hazards are from off the tee, because even though the course is a true links layout being flat, you can't really tell where your ball is going to land from the tee box due to the undulated fairways. Many Burns come into play off the tee around the 250-310 yard mark. Great course that is in great shape, that plays a bit slow due to the challenge off the tee. I will play here again soon. Great value.

Played today and really enjoyed the place. It's really a fun place to play, a unique style of play where it rewards "playing it along the ground". Typical stuff for a brand new golf course, tight lies, inconsistent greens, but the overall layout is impressive. You do need to play it about 2 or 3 times to get the feel of it. Lots of times, when standing on the tee, you don't really know on what line to hit it on, wish they had a yardage book or a picture of the layout on the back of the scorecard. The GPS is old-school, yardage only, no pics. For a links style layout, Rustic Canyon is miles better, but the Links at Summerly is going to be a big hit. It's gonna get a lot of play, as it challenges all kinds of handicaps. Dos Lagos should take note on how to open a golf course. The wind is this course's few defenses, as is the burn(water) areas that flow in and around a lot of the holes, as they are not readily seen from the tee or from the fairway when approaching the green. No real rough to speak of, but the challenge here really is to stay out of the fairway bunkers when tee'ing off. The greens have some swales and contours in them to make for some brutal future pin placements. Greens don't roll really quick right now, but in the future, these greens could be absolutely killer putting on them if they keep 'em fast. Pace of play wasn't very fast, I didn't expect it to be, as this course can be difficult to navigate at first. The range is fantastic, and people in the shop were very nice. One curious thing, they do have a walking rate, and they don't mind people walking but checking in, then walking out to the first tee is really a long ways, as is the walk from the 9th green to the 10th tee. Overall, enjoyed my day, and will definitely be back. 2 big thumbs up for The Links at Summerly..
