This is a fun, confidence inspiring course that my friends and I play when we want to humor ourselves. If you're having a good day, expect to shoot at least 4 strokes lower than your handicap because it is a short course. Trails can reward those who take risks, but I would advise playing the safe shot at every hole.

I have played this course many times...it seems that the drainage ditches are still there, I don't kow what to say but, yea drainage ditches on the front nine......

nice people in the pro-shop and bar...
driving range is ok, open late and they have a light on the chipping/green so you can work on stuff at night
overall I will never stop playing the TrailS!!!

Played 10/11. A half of each green is sanded right now, but they are still rolling pretty well. Fairways and tee boxes were decent. Front 9 was very slow but pace got much better at the turn.

No maitenance despite the warning, went out and played yesterday good round not many people there but they didn't have the grill out so we had to settle for microwaved hot dogs. Overall fun round.

This is a relatively easy course. nothing too challenging. We teed off around 6:30 AM in heavy fog (sorry, marine layer) which took us over the normal pace of play. The fairways and greens are in good shape and the rough makes it interesting as they hadn't cut it too short. Service is excellent, from the pro-shop to the cart girls to the guy at 10 cooking on the grill. A true pleasure @ $52 on the weekend!

I like this course. Greens were in great shape and most lies in the fairway were good . This isn't a course where you run the ball up on the green. Rough aroud the greens grab the ball so make sure you carry the rough. Played at 11:00 and took 4 1/2 hours. Lots of coupons out there for cheap rounds.

2nd group out. Greens had just been verta-cut (good). Fairways were pretty good (thin in spots). Rough is thick around some of the greens. Bunkers were wet & heavy unfortunately (crap shoot). All in all a good quick round (2 1/2 hrs.)

Been catching a 5:30 tee time on Golfnow, between $16-$18.00 over the last week 7/15 - 7/18. You actually tee off at first, real light. Course is in really good shape. Greens are true, although just a tad slow. Not a lot of ball-marks, yet. Most of the fairways are filled-in well and the rough is full around the greens. If you blow it right on #1 and #8, play it smart, don't be a hero. Get it back in the fairway. That stuff is thick and deadly. Getting out at this time in the morning, pace of play is not a concern. You'll finish in under 4 hours. The course is definitely worth it at Golfnow's price.

Teed off @ the crack of dawn. The course is in pretty good shape. The greens were freshly cut (smooth). No one ahead of us the whole round. Finished in just under 4 hrs. Nice round!

Got out there this morning (squeezed me into a five-some) and loved every minute of the round. Everything was playing fair and great! it seemed that it was in its peak condition and is definately worth the greens fee!

Went out and played this morning, round took about 4.5 hours and pace was really quick. Unfortunatly it was incredibly hot (which put a damper on my enjoyment) and we never saw the consessions cart once! To give them some credit though we saw the marshall about five times who was really nice and had excellent ice water. The greens were rolling well and the course was pretty fair over all, definatly worth the cheap greens fees.

I love playing this course, mainly because of its close location and cheap greens fees. American golf has really improved this course in the past years and made it much fairer. The greens roll really well and fairway shots have excellent lies the majority of the time.

Played on 2-17-08 for the first time. This is a shortish course (about 5900 yards) from the tips, however, it is not an easy course. Many of the par fours are fairly short but require a thoughtful tee shot to set up a chance for birdie. Driver is not necessary on many of the holes and a wayward driver will cost you a bunch of golf balls because there are plenty of hazards throughout the course. The back nine is the better nine, with beautiful views and a good mix of challenging holes. The greens were smooth and fairly fast, the fairways were a bit spotty and the staff very helpful. Will play again.

I read the ratings in GK so I decide to give a try. The overal condition is good except very thin rough. The front nine is packed but back nine is more spread out and scenary. The bigest problem I had today is the pace. There were four beginners in front of us hacking their balls 50 yards everytime (yeah and they get on the carts and ride that 50 yards), took us 5 hour and half to finish ..... People should know the basic etiquette. The ranger never showed up. Two groups behind us just gave up after hole 15. Such a pace of play is going to scare away any visitors, including me.

Course is in great condition. Greens are in the best shape I have seen. Gets crowded in the late morning and throughout the day.

Once again, a great test of golf for a song. I found the local regulars to be very proud of their course, and rightfully so. The course was in fine shape when I played, and the elevated tees offer mouth-watering chances to "stripe" your best drives down the undulating fairways below. The elevated greens are testy, but can be "romanced" if you're course-savvy. All-in-all, Mission Trails is a "neighborhood" jewel, and a fair play for all levels of ability.

Coarse provides a good varity of complexity from elevated greens to water bound fairways. This coarse has medium fast greens and is usually in good shape. Do not play shortly after fresh rain fall.

Best of all the coarse is very reasonable to play. Usually under 30.00 including cart.

Played Mission Trails Saturday, May 27th. As usual, the staff was helpful and friendly, the shop well stocked, and the hot dogs were great!

Teed off almost on time, which was great for a holiday weekend. Some very slow players out there, but it was expected, so it didn't really affect play. The course is in pretty good shape considering the number of rounds played there on a regular basis. Greens were fun, fairways pretty well defined, and rough was decent. Standing water on some holes near the cart paths is a concern, though. A decent day, a decent round, a good price...makes for a good, inexpensive, fun golf outing. I do still wish my fellow golfers would take more pride in fixing ball marks and cleaning up after themselves. SIGH!!

I have played this course two cosecutive weeks after not played this course for over one year I was pleasantly surprise to see the way it has improved, I always have enjoy the front nine but have trouble with the lack of maintenance of the back nine at times it seem like you were playing two diferent courses, and i'm realy glad it has change that and now both nine;s are almost equal.

I like to play Mission Trails, but would play it more often if they would take a little more pride in their course management. The fairways could use a good reseed.

A poorly maintained course, you couldn't tell the fairway from the rough as they both looked the same. The front nine looks nice, but once you get to the back a toatlly differant story. I wasn't impressed for what I paid.

Good quality golf at a reasonable price. Pace of play was about 4.5 hours. Golf course staff was very professional. Course is highly recommended for beginner golfers.

I played this course for the first time on november 11, 2005. The fairways on the first 6 hole was muddy; because it rain the night before. The greens was slow; however well maintained for the low price I paid to play there. This course is a great, for average/beginner players, who want to test the larger courses. The fairways are wide and forgiving, keeping you out of trouble. The Par 3s are short, giving you confidence, as you tee up to make your shot. The pace of play moved quickly, and the staff was helpful. I plan to play over the Thankgiving weekend.

Nice Muni type course. The greens were in decent shape considering being so late in the summer. Pace of play was quite slow--about 5 hours on a weekday morning.

Played this course on 4th of July and play was a little slow. Course was somewhat dry with unusual wet patches too. Quite sporty with some challenges offered for the short length. I thought it a fun course despite the average conditions. Price was a fair value. I would play it again given the opportunity.

Course is in fair to poor condition. Cart quit on us on hole 3,second cart quit on17. Pace of play was slow,6hr round, why do courses allow 14+ handicappers play from the back tees. All this for $40 twilight rate.

Front nine is always wet and muddy when it rains. Even if it is sunny for three days. Back nine is like a goat farm in some areas.

For $40.00 this course is not worth it. Very shabby conditions, brown fairway, lots of bare gorunds almost like cement, greens are not green, my front lawn looks a lot better. Will not play this course again.

Not sure what to think of Mission Trails golf course. A part of me thinks it’s a decent deal for the money and another part of wonders why I opted to play a course in such shabby conditions. The whole course seemed way overwatered today. The greens aren’t bad but the fairways were soaked. They had the 90 degree rule in effect today. Not sure if they are in the middle of something but seemed odd to have a course this wet this time of year. If you never played here, it’s a short layout with some nice doglegs to make things interesting. The course is tucked into a little canyon and there are some hills out there. It’s American Golf run so that speaks for itself. I little more of TLC would go a long way.

Very busy course. Fairways are a little rough, but the greens are in good condition. Priced, right. The front nine is basic golf, but the back that runs along Lake Murray, is visually quite pleasing and fun to play. Not resort golf, but fun and a nice way to enjoy the game.
