More about Ron (aka Santa Links)
Was a "once a week player", transitioning to a multi-day player now that I'm retired. Moved from PA to Tri-Cities WA area in August, still have cold weather but a LOT less snow and courses stay open most/all year - summers can get hot at times but it's WAY better than PA!
Used to be a big "bomb and gouge" player, now it's more like "bunt and scramble"! Biggest issue is still consistency (as if no one else has that problem!) but more playing time should help with that. Best scores these days are low 80's but hoping to change that over the next several months.
If anyone comes up this way, hit me up, I'm always open to getting together with fellow GKers.

Got paired up with three who were playing their practice round, both fun and humbling experience!
As you would imagine, conditions were excellent, especially for this early in the season for the area (we were still having frost delays 4-5 days a week). It’s a links style layout with wide fairways that run out as much as 60+ yards, when the wind’s blowing 20-30 mph playing along the ground is frequently the better choice. Greens were fast but not crazy, primary rough was a little patchy in places and pretty thick. Word of caution - do NOT go past
the primary cut, it’s nasty thigh high fescue or even worse, a recently plowed field! Bunkers were consistent but you’re better off avoiding them if at all possible, they range from tiny pit bunkers to 6-7 feet deep “black holes”.
This is a fun course that never plays the same twice and will challenge all ability levels. Highly recommended if you’re in the area. » Close
