Played twighlight at 3:00 PM for only $40 with gps cart. A super deal for the quality of golf here. The fairways are nice and wide but still require some thinking on the tee to set up the second shot. The deep rough is tall fescue so don't hit it there. I'm used to putting on "broccoli heads" in California so these greens were great to putt on. Worth the trip to Colorado from anywhere.

Played Highland Meadows for the first time 8-25-2010. I had heard alot about the course and found it all to be true. The fairways are wide and well manicured the greens are large and depending on pin placement tough but there are no trees to get in the way of errant shots. The greenside bunkers can be a little deep on certain holes and the fairway bunkers are well placed. I found the greens to be mostly soft however they were also on the fast side and some of them had multi tiered sections. In fact a couple of the holes had super large greens but with the pin placement you really had to study the break. The water hazzards were mostly on the front nine and then really they would not come into play unless you had a really bad errant shot. I found this course to be well worth the green fee and the staff very friendly and helpful to all your needs. There is a driving range however it is located a little far from the club house to use it you need to arrive early enough. Highland Meadows is a great course that you must play when visiting this area of Northen Colorado.

Played Highland Meadows this afternoon and from the very cheerful welcome to the sound of the last ball dropping in it was fantastic. This course was in immaculate condition from tee box to green through out all 18 holes. The fairways were very lush and clean hardly any divot marks anywhere and the greens were in such good condition you might think you were playing at a private club somewhere. This is a course where you can not blame the playing conditions for high scores so bring your game on. Highland Meadows plays from a short 4,600yds from the gold tees to a long 7,000yds from the back tees. The front nine will have you playing alongside houses and having to deal with lots of water hazzards and deep green side bunkers. Where as the back nine seems to place you out in a more secluded enviroment. Either side will have you thinking on every shot. Pin placement is very criticle on this course as most of the greens are very large and very contured with several multi layered. You must try to avoid the down hill putts as the speed becomes very fast on these greens. Check the GPS supplied in your cart to where the pin is placed as this very accurate and helpful. The fairways are very lush so stay in them because if you were to venture out into the rough here you will think you are playing in the British Open. There are no trees to deal with and with the rough dry and deep that is what this course looked like to me. The par 4 7th hole is a hole where if you drive long and straight you can reach the green from the tee, but be careful the green side bunkers there are at least 8 feet deep. Highland Meadows has a real nice driving range however if you plan on using it before your round I sugest you arive a little earlier than usual because it is quite a distance from the clubhouse. There is a real big putting green next to hole number one. The Pro shop is well maintained and supplied and the personnel working here seem to take pride in what they are doing for you. Highland Meadows is located in Windsor just North East of The Budwiser Event Center off I25. This is a course that must be played at least once to get the feel of what a links course should be like.
