Sept 4th,
this was a birthday golf round and played with my 2 sons, we got out about 1:30 and the pace of play was really fast, we caught no one and got past by a single once... the course is still in fantastic shape and the greens were just great. fast, smooth, and holding shots... this course gets reviews about slow play, but I have to say I've been on it now 3 times recently and all have been good. 4.25hrs was about the slowest. the staff was great and I even got a free cold one to the birthday. other than I had to pay 26.00 for a cart with only one rider, every thing else great.... I still love playing this course... lots of risk reward shots for sure...
plus like I've said in the past, the driving range is one of the nicest around for sure and it has a huge putting green and don't forget theres a par 3 nine hole you can play with the kids or other and have great time too....

This course is so-so. Greens, fairway, roughs are all so-so. Front 9 is flat, back 9 is more interesting. The biggest complaint is the weekend slow-to-hell pace and ignorant beginners here.

Blue Crush from Santa Cruz must have gotten exceedingly lucky to play this course in 4:25. I know... it is my home course and outside of perhaps a February Tuesday when it's raining, let's just say it's EXCEEDINGLY rare to be able to play this course in less than 5 hours. On weekends? Forget it. 5:30 is lightning fast. And why? Can we say greed and seven minute tee-time intervals? Oh well... it's too bad too because the staff is all very nice and the course really is darn good. If you find better greens in terms of condition and contour, let me know - it's amazing what the groundskeeping staff here does - darn near miraculous given the massive amount of play.

In any case, visitors do beware - slow play is the normal thing at Santa Teresa. If you get lucky and find a quick day, go get a lottery ticket.

sat, 14th and I had read a few reviews about this course being slow and not worth it, with a few other bad things... well I have to say to start with the pace of play was awsome, 4.25hrs with a stop at 9... the pro shop staff of keith/scott were great too, gave a few tips about the course and even took care of us as one of our players was late. the course overall was super, the greens were med fast and no divot marks... this course if you haven't played it requires a bit of local knowledge for about 5 holes as you can do better if you know. but if not the card shows pics for that.
I have to say the morning was quite and nice and the range is great too, but by the turn it was really busy. they have a nice par 3 course too. now for the clubhouse, the food I had and saw was really well priced and big portions. I had a turkey/cheese for 4.25 and it included potato salad too, nice... I have to say this course is allot of fun and has some really interesting holes and given the condition of the greens and pace of play, it was great...
the twilight is the best deal I think, as I was leaving there seemed to be no one on 1st couple of fairways...
ps, the only reason I gave it 3 stars for worth the fee, is that there are other courses around that are just a bit cheaper than here for weekend play.

Played this course on 1/20/08. Course was in very good condition, the greens were med speed, but very true rolling putts. The course has in interesting layout going from wide open and flat on the front 9 to narrower and hilly on the back. Wind was a factor, can get very cold and windy. If you take a cart, try to get one of the covered ones as this helps to shield greatly against the wind.

ZZZZZZZ. This is the sound of me sleeping between shots. Played on a Thursday with an 11:05 tee time. Was told they were a little behind- tee'd off at noon. A relaxing (not) 5 hours and 20 minutes later finished the round. Course condition-who cares! Had a very slow experience here once before and will not return until they learn that 7 minute spacing for tee times, does not work.

Good quality course for a public course that gets lots of play. The greens are always fast, especially durign the dry months.

This is a decent course. Conditions are usually pretty good, but the bunkers could use some work. Pace of play is pretty good on the weekdays, but on the weekends it becomes like rush hour traffic. Front nine is pretty flat, and the back nine is a little more hilly, but it's still easy to walk. Don't come expecting countryclub conditions, it's a muni and looks like it, but it's still fun. Should definitely give it a try.

This course is close to home and is enjoyable to play, but it seems that many times I have not been able to finish a round due to slow play. Not sure if is because of overbooking or slow players. Would like to see them give just alittle space inbetween tee times.
