Played 1/1/10 got the GREAT rate from Golfnow.com ($49). Tee'd off (at) 7:15 am and finished in 4 1/2 hours, seems to be about standard based on reviews. Course was in fantastic shape and looked beautiful tee to green. We had a little wind to start the day off (Santa Ana's so it was not prevailing wind), helped a little on the Front. Front side is very nice, but you do need to nail your tee shots to specific spots. First time I have played, so the back to back par 3's was a little quirky, I'm sure on a really crowded day this can slow things down to a halt. Enjoyed the front side, although the greens were not holding a thing. You had to play to front edge of green on anything more than a nine iron to even hope to keep it on the green. I play the SRIXON Z Star, so they should stop, but not today.... Dissappointed with some nice 5-4 iron shots into front of green that stopped rolling off the back side of green in rough.

Back side is toughest by far. There are some very quirky holes where you can't rip a tee shot unless you are absolutely DEAD STRAIGHT and how many golfers can do that. This will leave you with long approach shots to greens that didn't want to hold. Anyway, pack a few extra balls for the back side for sure. If you don't nail your driver, keep it in the bag, you'll save a lot of strokes and balls. Some long playing par 3's on this side as well.

Overall, course was in great shape. Pro Shop staff was fantastic. Cart girl was all over the course but they really should teach her to stop when players are hitting shots. Actually was driving next to tee boxes in the middle of swings on a number of holes. Kind of made us not so glad to see her !!!! Definitely will play here again, just not sure if it is going to be a regular stop on my circuit, well worth the discounted green fee though ! At rack rates, once in a blue moon. Beautiful views from many holes on a nice clear day.... by the way, as they say in the Pro Shop... you better know where Disneyland is ----- it affects every putt !!!

Played Sun 9/20 teed off at 6:25 am. Played in 4 1/2 hrs, not too bad didn't have to wait on too many shots. Course always plays a little slower than you would expect because of distance btwn green to next tee and folks alwasy looking for a ball from time to time.
Course is in great shape. Fairways were a little soggy in spots, obviously from heavy watering to keep so green during latest heat. But they were in very good shape. Greens were very nice, rolled fairly true and given the time of the morning speed was fine. Sand Traps were more mud than sand on a number of holes on the front side, back side they seemed to have dried out a little and for the most part looked like good sand. Only was in one all day, on the back side #16, was fine. Tee Boxes here have always been very rough and when built seems to have been no thought into keeping relatively level. That is probably the only complaint on this course is the tee boxes. Will never be right unless they rip them all up and start over again, which they won't do. So go in knowing very few level spots on any of the tees.
Otherwise a great golf course for the money. Got an internet deal and paid $60, pure bargain in So Cal now days.

One of my normal circuit of courses. Love this place. Although, they should have an education class on repairing a divot. Greens are riddled with unfixed divots, should issue a divot tool to every golfer and educate on how to use. This is the ONLY criticism I have of this course. That and would love to see a cart out there for us early morning crew with coffee :)

Have played this track 4 times in the last 4 months. Is now part of my normal circuit. Always in very good shape. The course layout allows you to score if you hit the ball well. If you are not hitting it well, you can still scramble on a number of holes. Enough challenge for low handicappers, but you need to move to blue / black tee's to add some length. Overall, a great golfing experience. Not sure about true pace of place as every time I play here I'm part of the dawn patrol getting off in the first 3 groups or so. At that time, we're getting around in 3 hours no problem.

Definitely worth the price, GREAT staff, great experience. Wish they would join the "online" world for tee times though.

Course is in very good shape and overall is a very nice golf course. For the price well worth it.

Issue with the course is the greens. It seems that they built these by burying old VW bugs under the green and leaving them exposed. These are some of the most severe undulations around. You don't need to put a burm or mound in the middle or side of the green to make it challenging. For the average golfer these greens are brutal to putt on. You can have putts up a hill, down a hill, around a mogul (you skiers will feel right at home), etc. Overall layout is not too bad but they crammed the course into as little acreage as possible. Bring a hard hat on back side (actually played as first holes). You can get KILLED if not carefull. Also, would not want to play this course in the wind at all. Some hole layouts don't make a lot of sense, especially as you get to front side (which is probably why they switched it up and you play course starting with hole #10).

General Opinion - If you can't putt VERY WELL, don't waste the aggrevation of this course. That is the difficulty of the course. Does not get interesting until you get on the green, then look out..... Also, they had ALL THE TEE BOXES when I played (Sun 3/22) WAY WAY UP. Played the blues and on almost ALL holes was playing from Whites and actually from the REDS on a bunch of holes (par 3's in particular). No black markers to even jump back to. Course is way too short to do that for the players that can hit the ball off the tee, although you can't really challenge a couple of par 5's in 2 due to design, but no big deal. Overall though a nice course in good shape. Although, folks playing there recently had no desire to repair a ball mark, as the greens were littered with them.

Played here for the first time fri 1/23. Caught rain on a few holes, but course was in fantastic shape given recent rains. Overall fantastic experience. Finally got out here and absolutely worth the drive. Fairways are very open and this course plays relatively easy for most golfers. Enough of a challenge if you move back. We played in no wind so this is reflected in scores shot. If its windy out here, which it often is, then openess of fairways is definitely a plus to still be able to score. Overall a GREAT course I will definitely play again and again.

NOTE --- find your tee time on golfnow.com or join sierra lakes e-mail list.... great discount on green fee's makes this a must play at those prices compared to other courses.

overall a very nice course. Played for the first time, it was good to have a "navigator" with me who had played before. Was a little wet/soft in some spots on the fairways and no rain so must be general watering. You need to hit the ball fairly straight. Significant Hooks/Slices will be punished. Speed of greens was not quite as fast as expected and they rolled very well. Playable course for many handicap levels. Pace of play was good but I was there during the week. On weekends I'm sure it gets very very long.

Played for the first time 10/22/08. You really need a "navigator" to play this course without any previous knowledge. Greens were in great shape, relatively fast. Very Very undulating and challenging. Pay attention to the position of the hole and make sure you are below it. Fairways were in OK shape, some very wet spots (no rain to speak of must be from normal watering) and some very thin spots. Like other reviewers, the slight rough is tough to hit out of for sure. You really need to play your shots to the correct position for a good chance to score. Their little golf guide while very reasonably priced ($3) was of moderate help. You had to find a sprinkler head with yardage to have a clue and sometimes that was tough. This course could definitely use gps in the cart. One negative I really had. Tee boxes were horrendous. Not in their general condition, but in how they are maintained. Majority of the tee boxes were very uneven giving you tee shots with your feet above or below the ball (On the tee???). They could have taken much better care in building these. If intention was to get drainage, come up with a better way. This was annoying. Also, getting your correct yardage from the Tee box (actually ensuring you were at the right one was difficult). Some par 3's the blue/white markers were right there next to each other - but card had different yardages - go figure.

All in all a nice course. Not for the very high handicapper in that a good deal of the holes from the whites/blues you have to carry the ball well off the tee and somewhat straight. Long hitters will get annoyed at having to lay back quite often if they are looking to score. But if you are long and straight, you can tear this course up --- IF YOU CAN PUTT...
