Played Friday, 3/5, as a three-some. The Goose is notorious on this site for it's consistency in the conditioning of the course. It is consistently in very nice shape. We went off around 11:20 with an open hole in front of us. By the third hole we had caught up and settled into a slower pace involving some waiting for fairways and greens to clear before continuing play. On the 14th tee box, the marshal came by and explained that the group two ahead of us was having issues, had been warned a couple of times and that an adjustment had been made that should spped things up. It was probably about a 5-hour round and I mention it as a condition of play on the day rather than a complaint. While a little slow, it was generally steady, so it was nothing to upset your rhythm. I'm usually in a hurry to get on a golf course, not off. A pleasant day with no significant breeze until the last couple of holes, almost every facet of the course was in very good shape. The one area I would say was less than stellar is the greens. The speed was good and on the quick side, but they were less than pure holding the lines. I saw a few putts make some uncharacteristic jumps and direction changes that are inconsistent with an ideal putting experience. Not horrible, but a shade below the consistency of the rest of the course. The practice green was sanded, so perhaps the regular greens are due for a little TLC and rolling. These are fine points and nothing that would prevent me from recommending the Goose in a heartbeat.
