Played the course on Friday 8/14/09. Had an early AM tee time, so pace of play was excellent. Tee boxes were in good shape. There are some bare spots on the fairways which should be addressed. Greens were in good shape, a little bumpy but receptive. Not a long course, but challenging in that you have to place your ball in the right position to give yourself a clear shot at the green. Greens are small and well protected by bunkers. Stay below the pin or the downhill putts are fast and tricky.

Played the Old Course on 7/24/09. First group out on the course at 7:00AM. Foggy, misty & wet to start off but absolutely calm. I was grouped w/ 2 scratch golfers, so we played from the tips. It's a beautiful course that winds inland into the residential housing. You have tree lined fairway views with tight landing areas, lots of hazards to contend with, and very fast and undulating greens. It's a challenge to keep it in the fairway. From the tips it challenges you with long par 4's & par 3's, and difficult approach shots. The course winds through different neighborhoods, with impressive houses. Course conditions were excellent from tee to green. The sun broke through for the last few holes, and as you come out to the ocean cliff for #17 & #18, the view is amazing. Personally, I think viewing the Ritz-Carlton is very cool, and it gives you a big target to aim for as you finish your round. Plus, the Ritz peanut gallery is watching you finish up and par or better could get you some applause.

Played the course on 7/23/09. Early afternoon, light foggy overcast, but no wind. Very scenic, not very long from the whites. Lots of ocean views along the cliff. Stay out of the hazard & long grass. Greens were Stimp 11, very fast, in great shape. Great golfing conditions and a fairly empty course made for a 3-hour round.

Played on Saturday 6/20/09, first time in a tournament. Tee to green is very good condition. Greens are receptive, but a little bumpy. The course is a fun challenge of shot making and avoiding trouble. Tee shots in the fairway are the key to low scoring. Stay very alert for stray balls coming from adjacent fairways.

Played on 5/8/09, 9:06AM tee time for 2 players. Weather was a little warm, but only slightly breezy so perfect conditions. Course is in great shape. Greens are a little bumpy and slower than usual. Pace of play was excellent, which was a pleasant surprise for a Friday morning. We invited the 2-some behind to join us on the 4th hole and finished our round in 4 hours. Stayed for lunch at the clubhouse where the food and service was very good. As usual, the staff at Tierra Rejada were friendly and professional.

Played the course on 4/10/2009 in the AM. Weather was a little cool & cloudy but very calm. Course is in good condition. Tee boxes in good condition. Fairways in good shape. Rough was not too long. Greens were in excellent condition considering that aeration was done about a month ago. Bunkers are the only part of the course in poor shape. They were hard packed wet sand, not fluffy sand. Pro shop staff were friendly, but I can't say the same for the restaurant.

Played on 3/19/09. The course is in excellent condition. From tee to green everything is green and lush. The rough is difficult because it has been allowed to grow, so your ball can sit down and make the shot out a little tricky. Greens roll true. The scenery is spectacular and the course gives each hole a unique, but fair challenge for the golfer. Staff is professional and friendly.

Played on Tuesday 1/6/09. 2nd group out so pace of play was excellent. Started off a little cool, but after a few holes it warmed up nicely. The course is in good condition overall. Tee boxes are a little beat up, fairways are hard so you can get a lot of roll. Rough is fairly short and usually not a problem. Greens were in good shape and receptive to short approach shots. Downhill putts were tough to judge and made you pay for being above the hole.

Played the morning of 12/31/08. Course is in very good shape. Some of the tee boxes are a little beat up, but fairways and greens are excellent. Greens are multi-tiered and contoured, making putting a challenge. Some of the holes have blind landing areas and driver is not always the club to hit off the tee, but unless you have knowledge of the course layout you can get into trouble. A beautiful course that challenges your shot making skills. Carts have GPS units which provided an overview of each hole and yardage to hazards and to the green. Pace of play on this day was excellent and the pro shop staff were friendly and courteous.

Played in the morning on 12/12/08. The course is in excellent shape from tee to green. They have done a good job in maintaining all areas of the course including significant tree trimming. Greens were receptive, smooth and fairly quick. It is a fun course to play that gives you opportunities to score low. Pace of play was good on this day, a 4-hour round. Pro shop staff were friendly and professional.

Played on Dec. 8th. Cold and a little breezy at 8:00AM and they started us off on #10. Pace of play was excellent, as the course was wide open. The course is in very good shape from tee to green. Greens are very fast. Bunker sand is fluffy and soft, but I did see bunkers that had standing water in low spots. Fairways are narrow. Penalties are steep if you don't keep your ball in play. Definitely need to keep your ball under the pin. GPS yardage in the cart was a nice feature. Very challenging course. Course staff were very friendly and professional.
