Played the course today. Crystal clear morning with temps in the high 60s. Course is more than just straight forward. Many tee shots are tricky if you haven't played hear. Working the ball left or right is a good way to navigate here. They supply a reasonable yardage book for free to first time players, but even with that it's somewhat of a guess on several holes because of blind tee shots or second shots.

Customer service was outstanding, helpful, and courtigous. Driving range was adaqute, although somewhat dry and incorrectly marked. Also they are in desperate need of a line rotation outside of where they currently place the ropes. Most of the current locations and previous locations are severely chewed up.

Course conditions are better than expected. Fairly lush in most locations, although some areas are dry with little grass suitable proper lies, these areas are generally brown and present very tight lies. Rough is a mixed bag. Within the sprinkler range it's quite good 2-4 inches with nested lies. However move outside of these areas and you receive a bag of mixed appearences dry, clumpy, bare, or over grown.
Greens were in good shape overall. Medium speed, rewarding well stuck shots. Not bad on unrepaired ball marks. Greens do show some roughness or bare areas around fringes. Not sure how the greens normally break here, but today what your eyes were reading seemed to be miles off for our entire foursome, with inconsistency from front and back nine. Bunkers, probably the worst part of this course. You get that heavy brown sand, with some bunkers quite thick, while others were rock hard even with sand. Most green side bunkers here are fairly deep faced, so it's not a gimme getting out and saving par.
Overall course is interesting and would have no problems returning.

CASCATA - Where does one begin in adding to the reviews of such a tremendous club. Everything here from the opening of the private gate to the time you leave is superior to any course I've played, and that includes heavy weights in OR, BC, WA, CA, AL. Special thanks to Mike our caddy for his great reads on some very slick and tricky greens. Nothing bad here to even think of picking at in my thoughts about the course.

Grizzly Ranch, really WOW!!!
The course was in excellent shape, fairways were clean and immaculate, very few if ant unprepared divots. Some course are really damag d because of this but not here. Golfing is hard, spent several minutes on each hole looking around at fabulous scenery taking in the views, especially looking up the fairways to the tees.
Greens were rolling medium to fast, undulating but in no means to an unfair advantage. Being able to read greens would definitely help you here, or taking in the advice of willing staff members. The layout here is tough but it is fair, maybe a bit tight if your a left or right side off the tee. Holes hold a very interesting take on you with each one bringing something different.
Practice facilities are top of the line, no annoying mats here.
Staff was friendly and courteous as well as the club pro who gives you some great advice. Lucky to play with a few members because course knowledge here really helps, especially with carry yardages. Definitely a most play on any golfers list, would enjoy playing this track again with a few gkers. Maybe a guru type outing Johnny?
DEFINITELY RECOMMED PLAYING HERE

Played out in the GK guru event on 8-4-16. First time playing in the area and didn't know what to expect. Based on course conditions down in the OC and IE wasn't expecting much, what a pleasant surprise. Course was not only in great shape but a fantastic layout as well. I would agree with all the other reviewers statements. I did find the bunkers to be quite enjoyable to play from, and I played almost t from the sand. I enjoy deep bunkers and most here are pretty deep with some high faces. Had a view it took a couple of shots to recover from.
Practice facilities here are A PLUS, Huge practice range, short game area, and ample practice green all in great shape. Staff here was again APLUS, great restaurant at the course.
Thanks to Johnny for putting this one together.

Played a round today with Kassper7, that was free with a cert he had. Thanks Perry for the round.

First lets be honest this course is what it is. Conditions here are better than average. Although the greens are slow to horribly slow they received shots well. Very easy to stick a shot next to the pin from 200 yards yard's out. Dancing the ball on the floor was quite easy. The greens were punched a few months ago and have healed nicely. A few had been dressed recently but still rolled true.

Fairways were mostly green Kikuyu grass. There were a few brown areas or areas that were painted GUR but nothing to menacing. A few other areas will probably require a little more work but again over all they were green and provided descent lies.
Rough here is not to bad, thin but playable. A few spots were quite fluffy and a few others were rather dry, again though better than average.

The sand here is horrible however. Probably have better luck hitting off the freeway and getting the ball close. Maybe an inch of sand, hard and mostly the consistency of cured concrete. I enjoy playing from the sand so normally I toss a few balls into a few bunkers to get a good feeling before I comment. However looking at them and finally stepping foot in one, plus watching Kassper7 hitting out of a few I wanted nothing to do with them here.

Tee boxes were mostly level, a few had some expected divots but above average in condition.

I felt conditions overall were better than some of the more expensive course that seem to be letting things go, certainly well worth the rack price or any deals you might find. At just over 6100 yards its a good place to practice your short game or work on your fairway woods from the tee. The course is worth a play and the staff here has worked hard in keeping things nice.

Played the course Feb 29th as part of my golf and baseball spring training getaway. Fabulous conditions. Fairways are green and fairly lush. Rough is penal with long native grass that will swallow your ball. Of course the weather at this time is prime, so with all that goes on in the AZ area at this time to find a course that is not top notch would be hard. My favorite aspect of this course and the sister course here are the bunkers, deep software and playable for all kinds of shots. Greens were fairly quick not fast but quick, down grain and down hill very difficult, against the grain just a tad slower but still tricky. Very few if any ball marks which was somewhat surprising considering the snow birds that are in the area at this time. Tees were well maintained with the expected divot damage although minor on the par 3s. Great course and conditions on both courses.

Played Oak Quarry, yesterday. Conditions were difficult wind blowing from 35 sustained to gusts of 50. Greens were solid. Very few ball marks and would hold well struck shots, slightly firmer than normal for here but good., rolling at 11 this day with a number 1 pin placement. Fairways are dormant at this time but still provide acceptable lies. Green complexes are lush, with little signs of wear. Service here is always top tier, however the marshals leave something to be questioned. Took 3 plus hours today for 9 holes, yes it was windy but bunching up the tee times didn't help and watching players play from the wrong tees made matters even worse, maybe 10 minute wait on every tee after the third hole.
My biggest complaint here, and it's gotten arguably worse are the bunkers both fairway and green side. I will normally toss a ball or two in both just to play and get a first hand account. After the first few today aided by the wind, I just picked up to avoid club damage. Several, and I am talking 8 had little 1/4 inch sand to nothing. This played out in both fairway and green side traps. When inquiring about this after the round, the response was and I quote "It's winter what do you want" rather short and to me a little ridiculous.

Played Rams Hill today with the GK outing. Wow what can be said. The place was great before and the changes made during the shut down period this past fall were terrific. Natural grasses, manicured desert areas. Everything here is as close to perfect as a course can get. Greens were rolling fast at 11.2 and once you figure out that putts break to the Salton Sea about a cup with the grain, and going back toward San Diego they are against it. My only eye raise was the amount of poorly repaired ball marks. Fairways were fantastic, beautiful, and had great lies. Rough was probably 1-3 inches full and in some cases very difficult to recover from and painful. Found several of the bunkers today, as is with everything else here they provided a fair yet challenging test. Tee boxes were level trim and showed very little wear. Thanks to Johnny for providing another great course for our event. Thanks to the staff for having the course in such great condition, IT NEVER DISSAPOINTS.

Late review from Indian Wells GK event. What a fabulous day on the course. As in previous events held here everything was top notch. Greens were great, tricky putts and rolled true. Made the mistake several times of being above the hole which caused a few 3 putts. Fairways were lush and provided great hitting conditions through out the course. Dormant grass provided tricky hitting conditions. I am one who enjoys playing out of bunkers and the examples at I.W. Celebrity provide a great challenge, terrific sand allowing for all your shots. Thanks to Johnny and the staff at I.W. for providing another great year end outing

What can be said about what I think is the best course north of Vegas. Wolf Creek the only course I play every year when a golf weekend out of state presents itself. The butt kicking did not take long to start, exactly two holes and then the end started. Played from the Championship Tees at just over 6300 yards. I thought my last few rounds here would have taught me a lesson but no. This course never disappoints, green, lush great site lines troubling tee shots, down hill par fives that you can really swing and boom from. Challenging par 3s and simply some of the best par 4s in Nevada.
Customer service here is top notch, practice facilities are the bet around, maybe in all of Nevada. Lets just some this up, I think we all know that there's just something special hitting a tee shot when the fairway is hundreds of feet below you.
I remember my first round out here with Johnny like it was yesterday, thanks for the invite back then, it remains one of my favorite first time rounds of all time. Every round here gets better each time, not in score mind you, but in the things I missed seeing in previous rounds, visually stunning is not a fair where to describe this place, think of whatever word you can or even make up your own, BUT PLAY THE COURSE EVERY YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finished my weekend trip to Nevada for my yearly butt kicking and what I think are two of tconstant light breeze he greatest courses past Vegas. First stop this year was Sand Hollow (Championship course) Played from the Whites as it comes in at just under 6500 yards. Try and rotate my course selection every year expect for one course so it had been awhile since the last time I played here. Nothing has changed. The course is stunning visually, with lush green fairways, well placed red sand bunkers fairways on tight vistas overlooking deep caverns and valleys. Greens were well suited to all types of shots, lower running or high soft drops. Natural vegetation, a constant slight breeze and enormous red rock out cropping's are just a few of the hazards you will encounter. Playing from the bunkers here is a treat you most experience. Forget trying to just barely clear a lip, most bunkers here are deep and evil. Several greenside bunkers are at the least 6 or 7 feet with views of the top of flag or no view at all.
Rough is really not your problem here although it will make you think, ball position is your priority here. Greedy players can and in most cases will suffer. The course presents it self as a good combination of Desert golf and links style.
Services here are outstanding where staying at the resort or off in one of the many fairly priced hotels. Customer services is outstanding an practice facilities rate the same.
