Great conditions. Greens very fast. Some dead spots in fairways but still are great. Frost delay. We didn't get off til an hour after our tee time and they were starting on #10. but, all in all, a good day.

Played Monday the 26th with an $18.00 coupon from an email blast. Place was empty when I arrived at 8am. We walked right on. Greens are in good shape. Fairways, too. Except for some bare areas (8th fairway was completely roped off; lots of fertilizer thrown down on bare spots). They've never been able to get that fairway to recover from a freeze last year. Some of the tee boxes were bare. On #8 and #7 the blue tees were up by the reds cuz the back of the box was ripped up. Again, none of these things were horrible, just not "perfect." The usual complaint about schizophrenic (sp) bunkers. Either hard pan or heavy, deep beach sand; no consistency. It's a great value. Conditions are always better than average and the staff is very accomodating. Wonderful place.

Played today, Tuesday, Nov. 20th. They've overseeded the course and it is very lush. Best conditions I've seen here. Some may say that's not saying much, but you can't beat the conditions for $26! Greens were immaculate. Fairways were lush, but not cut very short. Lots of deep, thick rough. Definitely penalized if you found it. It's nothing fancy, but it is very decent condition right now.

Played Tuesday, 11/13. Only complaint would be there are some greens with dead areas. Front right of green on #2. Most of the front of #5. Some of#15. Right middle of #18. Dead, brown areas with missing turf. On #2, the pin was very close to it. Other than that, great conditions. Greens were pretty slow. Slower than usual. Probably letting them grow cuz of heat.

Played Thursday, Nov. 1st. Greens are in great shape. Rest of course is getting greener from overseeding but still needs a couple of weeks. CART PATH ONLY. Very wet still.

Great course. Play it alot. We played Friday morning (10/19). I'd say it's still a week away from being perfect. Fairways were a little thin due to overseeding (lots of cart path only; we were walking so didn't matter) and the greens were still bumpy from aeration, although the holes have grown over. Not bad, but not perfect, yet.
Right edge of 18th green has a big bare spot in the green. Pace of play was not good. Took five hours. Problem is folks go from #9 into the clubhouse to get food, take their time, and then there's folks hopping in and out cuz they've lost their place on the course. They need a snack bar at the turn. They'd make a killing. There was a marshall on course who politely told us he was trying to move folks but it was to no avail. No biggie. But, if you play here, don't go for food at the turn and screw up everyone else's pace. Pack a snack!

Greens are great. Everything else is very rough around the edges. Great place to go out, walk, and hit some shots. Nothing fancy. $26 to walk. A good bargain. Walked in 3.45 hours.

I used to play Eagle Glen all the time, but for whatever reason it had fallen out of our rotation. Decided to give it another shot today before they shut down for overseeding. First off, the started told me they were closing Sept. 24 to the 30th, not on the 17th as posted on the site. That said, course is in fairly decent condition. The fairways are brown, but they are cut tight and have lots of roll. Grass is fluffy, just brown. Greens were in very good shape. Some ball marks, but they were pretty quick and rolled true. Tee boxes a little beat up, but they aren't that big so there aren't a lot of areas where they can work from to let them recover. For 45 bucks with a cart, it's well worth the money. Only complaint...the "pager" system they use. You pay, they give you a buzzer, much like at a restaurant. When it's time for you to tee off, they buzz you. Well, ours never buzzed. Starter said he buzzed us three or four times, so he let a couple other groups out in front of us. It was obvious we were waiting in our carts by the practice green. All he had to do was walk fifty feet down the hill to see if we were a certain group. then again, i suppose we could have walked up to him, too. Still, it's a lame system. Kind of on par with APPLEBEES.

I play San Clemente at least three times a month and USUALLY the experience is a good one. Not today. Always go as a single and usually get on in about 30 minutes. Their policy is to hold one or two tee times each hour open for walk ons. There were three of us waiting over 90 minutes. What happened to the two times an hour policy? Dude in pro shop was clueless. Wasn't the normal guy I deal with. Then, to top it off, they'd PUNCHED THE GREENS and said nothing. Small holes, but still affect the putting. That said, course is in decent shape except for the majority of the tee boxes. For the money, it's worth it.

Played 9/5 with a golf now discount. Place was deserted, except for the foursome in front of us who wouldn't let us, a twosome, play through. Would have been nice to see a marshall who could have set them straight. That said, course is in decent condition. Fairways have seen better days. Lots of ground under repair. They were punching the 18th fairway so it was lift, clean and place. Some of the greens were perfect, others were bouncy with some bare spots. All goes hand in hand with the weather. As you all know, it's a good test of golf. Just don't pay full price right now. for the $, Goose Creek is in better shape.

Played Wed., Aug. 30th. Conditions were what we expected. Rough around the edges with lots of bare spots. The greens were actually in really good shape. Slow, but they leave them long to withstand the heat. We had a 6:40am tee time; starter let us out at 6:20am. Nice variety of holes. For the price, it's fine.

Consistently well maintained for a muni. A bargain. Greens were a little bumpy. Tee boxes are pretty beat up. Still, good course for the money. Great, casual vibe.
