Able to secure a first time off at 6:20AM, which considering how hot was projected, was a good decision. Even though we finished before 9AM, it was already very hot by the time we placed the clubs back in the trunk.

The staff was fantastic. Everyone we encountered was friendly and accommodating Very much appreciated. The course was in generally nice condition. The greens rolled very well, and those which had been mowed had decent pace. All were very receptive. Some of the rough was U S Open thick. Found a number of balls which obviously had been lost the day before. Crazy ! Bunkers had plenty of well raked sand. Most of the tee boxes were OK, some not so great.

Enjoyed playing Oak Valley again after a 6-year absence. Decided to play from the white tees which turned out to be a smart decision. Played a lot more like it did "years ago"

Nice to get out first on a very pleasant morning. With the expected storm tomorrow, wanted to insure I played today. Surprisingly not as crowded as expected. Would have thought others would have felt the same way?

Course is very enjoyable to play right now. Greens rolling true, not too fast, but quick enough to keep your attention. Good coverage on the fairways. Bunkers are excellent as usual, as are the tee boxes. Still a few areas in the rough, but nothing too concerning. Lots and lots of maintenance to deal with in the mornings, but I guess that's the price for the course being in such nice shape. I realize if I played later, I would avoid maintenance, but then I would not be able to play in the quick rounds I have become accustomed too.

Able to snag a first time off at 6:04AM for an online deal of two for $90. A good deal considering prices today. Although it was rather busy, no issues getting out on time.

The greens were far and away the best part of the course. Nice pace and rolled well, and very receptive. The greens on the back nine had not been mowed, so obviously were not as quick or true. None of the bunkers had yet been raked, but the two I found did have adequate amount of sand. While the fairways had decent coverage, they needed to be cut which resulted in very little if any roll out, so the course played rather long this morning. There were also areas in the rough which looked like U S Open rough

I have to admit that I thought the overall appearance of the course was kind of "scruffy". Enjoyed the round, but left somewhat disappointed

Out early at one of my favorite LA County courses. Love the scenery, the wildlife, and the general layout. Senior rate makes it a real bargin as well. I must admit I was a bit disappointed in the overall condition. Too wet! I appreciate with the recent heat they want to keep the grass alive, but there has to a limit to the amount of water you want to put on the course.

Greens were slower than usual, which is disappointing, because the challenge of these greens when they're quick, makes the course only that much more fun. It it me or the wet fairways, because the course seemed to play extra-long. Probably both! Still always enjoy this course, because it offers some interesting holes which do not beat you up. Recommend to anyone who has not played here, but hopefully they'll let this play dry out a bit.

Had not played the Goat for a while so was excited to return and be humbled as usual. Every time I come here, I notice the improvements. I particularly liked the riveted faces on the greenside bunkers. Greens were very nice, but since more than half the greens were not mowed, made judging pace was a challenge.

Since we had the first time off, and because of the heavy marine level, we could not really see anything until hole #11. The last thing you need at the Goat is an additional challenge. Fortunately, I have played here enough to have some local knowledge, but still put a damper on the round. (No pun intended )

Always enjoy playing the Goat. While I would not wish to make a steady diet of this course, it certainly keeps your interest the entire round. As I've said before, if you have never played the Goat, I strongly recommend, because you are going to either love it or hate, but you won't leave with an apathetic opinion about the course.

Played Eldo in a rare mid-morning round. While I have always liked Eldo, it has never treated me well. Always seem to struggle here. I don't know if it was the course, the pace of play, or just the fact I don't play very well anymore! Certainly not use to the pace of play, being accustomed to quick early rounds, so maybe I'll use that as an excuse.

Mark's most recent review was spot on. Greens certainly the best part of the course. Better than can remember when I played here on a more regular basis years ago. Rough here has always been inconsistent, so no surprise there. Despite the long afternoon, the questionable performance on my part, still had a good time. However, I just cannot get over how expensive it is to play here now. I remember the days when it was $4. (Am I showing my age again?) Those days, like my distance/skills are long gone.

Back out to Dos Lagos for a quick, early round. 78 degrees when I tee'd off at 5:48AM, so expected it to become rather warm, but there was cloud cover, so it never really became any warmer. Finished in just a bit under two hours, so still early.

Conditions about the same as when I played here a few weeks ago. However since I had no mowed greens, they were a bit on the slow side. Bunkers had plenty of sand, but none were yet maintained, so hard to evaluate. Decent coverage in the fairways.

As always, Ruth in the shop is the best. Wish every person working in the golf shops were like her.

First out on a very busy morning. Perhaps because they are closing the South course for two weeks for some resodding work, everyone was trying to play there. Conditions were good, greens not as quick as normal, some thin areas in the fairways (Resodding?) Tee boxes and bunkers fine. Enjoyed some overcast skies, so it kept things relatively cool, which was appreciated.

First out at 6AM on a very pleasant morning. Nice to get out early and beat the crowds and the heat. Lots of maintenance and a whole bunch of sprinklers to contend with. In all fairness, they did turn them off to allow us to play, but nevertheless, it was a distraction at times.

The course was in overall very nice condition. Green speeds were slower than usual because of the watering but were very receptive. Good coverage on the fairways. Bunkers had not yet all been raked, so it was different on each instance. Staff was great! They allowed us to go as a twosome which was greatly appreciated. Didn't try to play too fast because we wanted to avoid catching the back nine play, but still able to finish in a little over 2 1/2 hours.

Enjoyed the course as I always have, but it is simply too expensive to make play with any frequency. Wish they would return to giving senior rates early rather than after 11AM. That would influence my decision to return

First out on another warm morning. Sure wish they would allow play to begin prior to 7AM during these summer months. However being out first makes for a quick round, so it doesn't get too hot until the bad nine.

Course is in nice condition, but the green speeds are somewhat slower, perhaps to protect them from the high temperatures? Fairways have good coverge, tee boxes are fine> the sand in the greenside bunkers needs to be more deeply raked to provide a better opportunity from the sand. As it plays now, the sand plays "heavy" and it's difficult to get through the sand. Otherwise the conditions are good - weathering the heat just fine.

Nice to get back out to Mile Square. Conditions are far better than the last time I played here, perhaps as nice as I've seen it. Greens rolled well, had decent pace and were receptive. Good coverage in the fairways. Only found one bunker and it had plenty of sand and was well raked. Staff was great and accommodating. Heat wasn't too bad - helped to get out early.

First out on a warm morning. 70 degrees at 5:30am, but since we played in a little under 2 1/2 hours, we certainly beat the heat. Lots of sprinklers running on the back side, which made for an interesting challenge to avoid them. Putting a lot of water on the course, which is a good thing because they are actually beginning to get some grass in the fairways. The greens rolled really well, but because they were just soaked and not mowed, they were SLOW!. I'm sure once they're cut and dry out, they would be pretty nice. Just a lot of bare areas and spots in the rough which looked with US Open rough. But the course is improving, and that is encouraging.

Rocky in the shop is wonderful. The rate for a senior is some of the lowest anywhere. The actual layout is terrific, but you have to look past the conditions, Otherwise you will probably not have a very good time
