Very disappointing customer service and a frustrating experience this morning (9/24/26 at 9:00am).

I came to Upland Hills Country Club this morning hoping to play nine holes. The club’s website specifically advertises “Family Tee Times” in the morning as 9-hole play for families and golfers of all skill levels. I’ve also played nine holes here on weekday mornings within the past couple of weeks and was previously offered a nine-hole rate around 8:00–8:30 AM.

This morning, when I arrived around 9:00 AM, I asked the starter about playing nine holes and paying the nine-hole rate. Instead of simply explaining the club’s policy, the employee was extremely rude and confrontational. He told me they only offer the nine-hole rate at 7:30 AM and that he was not going to offer it to me. He then became argumentative and raised his voice at me.

I explained that I was simply asking them to honor the nine-hole option advertised on their website and allow me to walk nine holes in the morning. He told me that the previous employee who had allowed me to play nine holes should “get in trouble” or potentially be fired for doing so.

He ultimately told me he wasn’t going to help me and that I would have to sit around and wait to speak with the GM if I wanted to pursue it.

The issue wasn’t that they had a specific tee-time policy. I would have been completely fine with someone professionally explaining the policy. The problem was the way I was treated. There was no attempt to provide reasonable customer service or find a solution.

I enjoy playing golf and would have liked to continue supporting my local course, but being spoken to this way over a straightforward question about a nine-hole rate was incredibly disappointing.

I hope management reviews both the club’s posted information and how customers are being treated at the front desk/starter area. A customer asking about a nine-hole rate shouldn’t turn into a confrontation.
