I couldn't NOT cruise back to Casta del Sol after a late-rnd Saturday. The greens are as good as they've ever been. They seemed a little faster Tuesday than they were Saturday. I doubt it was just due to later-day-round, but I didn't ask if they were rolled.

The 3pm-round for $23 w/ a cart and 2-drinks (water, gatorade or beer) is a deal w/ daylight-savings-time almost assuring a round's finished if/when it's not packed.

The course is in pretty good shape compared to what was experienced last week in Temecula.

Casta will punch half of the greens at a time beginning in April, so all 18 will remain playable during it's maintenance.

Prior to this week, I held Redhawk as highly as any course in Southern California, public or Private. The course almost always presents challenges, no matter where your ball is on the course, in-the-rough as well as on-the-green.

As was the case on Wednesday (3/4/2015) although it was O N L Y on the front-9.

The starter was quick to mention the back-9 was closed due to the greens being punched and thought "playing-until-dark" on the front-9 would make everything a-ok.

"Special Posting" may mean 'seasonal-punch/Spring-punch' but I hadn't checked-in on GK before booking a super-deal on SupremeGolf.com via GolfNow.

However, despite the dollar difference between rounds for "9-holes" @ a few dollars less, I thought, "no way: I'm playing all 18 for < $30" (even though I would usually consider $24/25 for 9-holes @ Redhawk a deal in it's own right, but not in it's current condition).

Winter rules could very easily have been in play given the mud on some spots of the course playable on this trek. I didn't lift & clean at all, because it wasn't as though the ball was rolling much once it hit the green. Not only are the greens super soft, they're sanded from being punched last week.

The greens were still relatively fast despite their sandiness on all tiers.

Tee-boxes were quite nice, as usual and the fairways weren't too bad. Same can be sad for the rough.

Luckily I didn't find myself in Redhawk's grassy pot-bunkers. The same can't be said for myself & the sand, which was more mud in a few cases than it was sand. And it wasn't because of the rain. Apparently it was because of timing & course maintenance. A few sand-bunkers were quite nice, as most golfers would've expected if they've played Redhawk.

Plenty of practice space to work on all facets of your game, and usually ripe for golf tournaments; I look forward to the grand return of Redhawk in a few weeks.
