Oh Simi Hills, you remember her like a distant memory of a crazy ex girlfriend. Sometimes you go and shes so beautiful and plays so well, then there was a day like yesterday.... Strike one was the fact that no one told me when I reserved the tee time that two of the par fours were temporarily par threes, and half-assed at that. Strike two was the 3.5 hours it took to finish the first 9 holes. Strike three was when we skip the slow groups at the turn (while they are all at picnic tables eating) and start playing quickly, we get a lecture from the Marshall about playing faster since were well behind the group in front of us (who was actually about three groups in front of us). Well we hit the strikeout limit but there is still more, half of the tee boxes were as lumpy/bumpy as my back yard and the grass was about as tall. The greens were inconsistent and squishy as they get, at one point I put my hand flat on the green to get a feel for it and noticed my hand print stayed there for the entire time we were on the green. Bottom line, Simi hills has been ok at times in the past but after this last outing it will be a while before I risk spending $55 to play there again.

Never have a bad round (at) Tierra but played yesterday and the course was in exceptional condition. The greens were better than I've ever seen them and the fairways were immaculate. After playing Lost Canyons on Sunday I think I Tierra is currently in better shape.

Played Soule Park for the first time today. Course was incredibly beautiful and in amazing shape. The greens were easy to read but very fast, which I love. Overall, very challenging and very well maintained and for the price you can't beat it. I will be back soon because I may be wrong but it seems like it could get very hot in Ojai during the summer.
