Played 8/29 at 10am. Pop was 3hrs and about 6 other humans on the golf course. Weather was in the low 100s. Perfect. Golf course just held the first round of the lpga q-school. Course was in great shape. Greens were perfect solid 9-9.5. I truly forgot how tiny those fairways were. I will be bsck out there during my winter trip to the desert.
So..... Good ole Oak Quarry.... Have not been out here in 11 or so years. Had a 9:12 tee time. There were about 20 people at the cart staging area. They had a group show up the wrong day. Now.... Great they fit them in to there tee time they scheduled but it thru the entire course about 50 mins behind. For the first 7 holes we had multiple groups on tees and fairways /greens. Pop was right at 5 hours and 31 mins behind. Good on them for fitting them in. Now to the course. The range has not changed. Range balls suck but did the job. The putting green was d%mn good for this time of year. Get out on the course and it was in great shape for begining of September. Little wet in areas and greens were soft and a little bumpy. Rolled about a 10. For the 45 dollar price tag if i lived back in the area i would be out there twice a week. I can't wait to see the course in December. Highly recommend playing it.
It was very green, but that is about were the good anything stops. Fairways still spotty on canyons, ranch was closed, and Meadows was the same way. Biggest pet peeve of mine is paying 60 bucks a person and having HORRIBLE greens. I played back in april and the greens were rock hard and fast it was awesome. I had the same hopes but was ready to go back to the truck after the second hole. My dad was with me so I stayed. We played the tips I hit every green on the front and had 21 putts. Every putt I hit bounced somewhere normally bad. It was a long day. I would not recommend going out there for awhile.

I remember this course when it was perfect everyday. Now the new owners have destroyed a gem. I will not be coming back to this course for a very long time. I used to recommend everybody to play here. The fairways were trashed (granted they got pounded by water) that should make them nice a lush. Looks like they need to either bring back in the old greens keeper or just put houses on the course and get rid of it. The greens were soft and bumpy due to the rain still rolled like old scga (fast, fast, fast) I will miss those greens. I feel bad for this course.
