$145.00 for non residents to walk a U.S. Open course. This course is in PGA shape right now thanks to Candice the greenskeeper. The USGA is out here all the time and staying on top of things. I play here alot and will tell you that now is the time to play. Everything is in good condition and the greens are smooth and FAST! If yer in so so shape I suggest a cart. It's worth every dime right now and you can think back to your time at Torrey while you watch the US Open this June. You can walk right on if you get here by 5:30 or 6 am.

The pictures you may have seen of this course are a few years old. At one time this was one of the finest courses in so cal. A couple years ago our head greenskeeper (Kevin) went to Aviara because the new owners would not pay him properly. This course has gone straight downhill ever since. In the 20 plus years I have played here I have never seen it in such average condition with so many bad areas. I recently dropped my membership because of the new Greenskeeper. Do everyone a favor and call the management and tell them what you think. Maybe we'll get a new greenskeeper and the course will once again become a great course.

Played 11/13/07
They opened this place too early. The greens are all different speeds but roll smooth between the ball marks left by tiger woods fans. Played the tips and found myself hitting at a 115 yard par 3 one minute and a 600 yard par 5 the next. The design is inconsistant with some long holes and some very short (may be different from the white tees) and most bunkers look more like sand boxes (no style). There were about 6 or 8 decent looking holes, 18 being the best looking. I wish they had taken their time and did a better job with all the bunkers. There were a couple BLIND shots into greens from the fairway that I didn't like. It's worth playing with your friends though. Upside is the price and downside is the fact that there are no yardage markers to greens or hazards from the tee areas. I predict they'll lose more quality in their greens from what I seen the hacks left behind. I'd give it a "C" with future potential.
