An update to my 8/11 review, the fairways have just been punched so there are a lot of plugs laying around and it looks like they haven't been mowed in a few days. I confirmed that they will be aerati... Continue »

Played here Monday AM, first time in 2 months and I must say the course (except for the rough) is in the best condition I've ever seen it.

Greens: Smooth and medium to fast and "holding"

Gotta say I have some fun memories of the course. It's not much to look at but some of the holes really test you. Great fun course, locals are good people and the staff is very accomodating -- especially to singles :D Have fun!

A nice long par 3 that is not a strong birdie opportunity, but doesn't have to cost you strokes if you leave anything short in front of the green, where a very reasonable up and down awaits. Even a BAAAAAD miss right, nearly to the fence line, very possibly could get lucky and catch the steep hardpan slope back down to the right side of the fairway. Trouble runs all the way down the left, so right on the sloped hillside is STILL better than left. If you love a 200yrd cut shot, this is your baby. The further you hit it, the more magnified your chance of trouble, as trees and bunkers will complicate the up and down.

Another very realistic chance at birdie here. A hole you can be aggressive off the tee without too much punishment for a miss. With a decent drive anywhere in the fairway you can get there in two, though a draw is the best play on this big dogleg left. Misses left could still leave a reasonable shot in but will be slightly blind to the green and are complicated by the sketchy rough. The green is large and friendly so you can attack without too much fear of anything worse than a reasonable bunker shot.
