Played here this morning. I found some $55 7:30 tee times available on Standbygolf and it turns out they were having a shotgun start today because of another big event in the afternoon. Most weekend times here on GN are over $90 right now, so that price caught my attention and made it finally worth the visit to this course. The place was busy with all the members, but the shotgun start went smoothly. I was paired with a threesome and we started on the 3rd hole. Everyone here is used to sub-4-hour "country club" rounds and the course enforces a 4:15 pace (awesome), so things went pretty quickly and we finished in under 4.

The course is absolutely gorgeous right now in prime winter conditions. Borderline "immaculate" on all levels. Tee boxes, fairways and rough beautifully manicured. Impressive landscaping/maintenance here similar to Desert Falls with the expansive rough that is one big sprawling perfect cut from the edges of the fairways right up to the back porches of the surrounding homes. I wasn't in a greenside bunker, but they looked like nice fluffy white sand. I was in one fairway bunker and it was the perfect consistency for a long bunker shot. The greens were great—firm, but receptive, and pretty quick (rolling at an 11 according to the sign outside the clubhouse). Smooth and true.

I wasn't sure what to expect from the course since they don't have much of a website and no GK photos (I'll post some soon), but it was enjoyable on all levels. Not overly challenging, but interesting enough. Residential layout with some quirky routing and houses can come into play, but never feels too cramped because there's ample room for error on most shots. Even with the excellent conditions, I'm not sure I'd pay over $90 for this course when there are so many other more dramatic options around, but for what I paid it was a great deal today!

Quickly becoming my favorite course. Great practice facility, wonderful staff, great food. The Sunday Brunch is a bargain at $11 all you can eat.

Quickly becoming my favorite course. Great practice facility, wonderful staff, great food. The Sunday Brunch is a bargain at $11 all you can eat.

Played on 2/20/11. Course was in excellent shape all the way around. It's a fair challenge and great fun to play. Each hole has something a little different that makes it a nice fulfilling round.
