Rode the Golds (6698/72.1/128) in 3.5H super twilight for $25 which included range balls on the all grass range. Clear, breezy and around 105 was why I practically had the course to myself. Heritage Palms is a semi-private course that is surrounded by nice homes and condos in a gated community. Arthur Hills design that opened in 1996, I like the layout. Mostly open with only a few tight shots with several lakes that come prominently in play on a few holes. Enough sand, trees and native areas to get your attention without beating you up with them. From tee to green, the playing conditions were near immaculate. However, the greens did not match the rest of the course. The tees were immaculate, level and lush with hardly a divot anywhere. Same for the fairways and rough. Both were thick and lush with few divots and great coverage throughout. The traps were nicely maintained. Fine white sand that was thick around the greens. The fairway traps were a little more firm, and I was in one waste bunker that was very firm. The greens were disappointing compared to the rest of the course. Firm, a little bumpy and medium speed. Many of the greens had obviously been at least partially aerated within the last 3-4 weeks. They looked like they were still 7-10 days from being in top shape again. The customer service was a plus. Beautiful, massive clubhouse. Nice practice range that included a chipping area over by the tennis courts. The course would not be very walkable because of the heat and the fact that numerous tees are a long way from the last green. Middle tier course for the greater Palms Spring area, but with that said... this is a nice layout that would be good for players of all skill levels and is in very good condition. Recommended.

Played the Championship tees (72.1/128/6698). I was the first one out, as a single, and played in 2:20. Started at 7am, and done by 9:20, on an extremely hot day. It was great. Never rushed, and no one ever caught up behind me.
Felt like the longest 6700 yard course I've ever played. Many par 4's over 400 yards.
While not many holes here stand out as ones to remember, the whole course is great. They actually punched and sanded the greens, and they still held shots, rolled true, and were very fast. The sign at the starter said they were running at an 11 on the stimp today.
Tee boxes are flat, level, and no divot damage.
Fairways are so lush and had great lies. No browning, or burned out areas anywhere.
Rough was about 1/2 inch thicker than the fairway, with very good lies.
Bunkers all had white fluffy sand, and easy to hit through.
Greens were punched about a week ago, sanded down too. But they still roll them when healing. They were the best aerified greens I've ever played on. Held shots, rolled true, and very fast.

I must say that I was very impressed with this place. It's in a 55+ community on the border of La Quinta and Indio. They pro shop was well stocked and staff was friendly. The starter said they are looking to turn completely private in about a year (semi-private now). When I finished 18, I noticed everyone here had their own carts, some of them really tricked out, haha!

Yes, I recommend even with the punched greens. Rack rate is about $125, but I booked the morning of, for $55. Had an excellent time!

Tee boxes were nice and level with minimal divot damage. Fairways were in great shape. Lush, green, with very minimal divot damage. What there was had been properly filled. Rough was great as well. Lush, green, balls sat up nicely allowing for good recovery. Sand was a fine mix of fluffy top layer and slightly damp bottom layer. Was in three and out in one try from each, "so I got that going for me, which is nice!" Finished the round in just over 4 hours. Its a semi-private course so you cant view tee times on line. You will have to call the pro shop. Very enjoyable layout. Will be back!

Fun course, the day we played there was severe wind, 30-40 mph. The greens had also been verticut so they were super fast. I would like to play it again under normal conditions, it wasn't much fun that day. They are big on fast play. We were a foursome so we let 2 twosomes play through. Marshall thanked us for that but then complained we were 20 minutes behind, about the exact time it took to let the groups play through.
We didn't hold anyone up even after letting groups go through, pretty lame of him.

Played here on January 16, 17, & 21. EVERY THING WAS GOOD !!

How I mean that is that in every aspect of a golf course maintenance, they've got it right. The course itself is very enjoyable as a design and layout. A typical golf course around a modest senior living homes. No, not very long, and you can score well on this course. But the fact that the superintendent has this course in a level that they have it now makes it even more enjoyable to play it.

The pro shop folks are good and does their job. The dining facilities are alright and the services are good. The beverage cart comes around a few times. The starters are strict on play schedules.

The greens will delight you. The bunkers' sand is well conditioned. The teeing grounds are fine. The fairways are cut close and are a pleasure to land and hit from. The roughs are not that deep- they are lush. The course looks great and it is in great shape.

Don't miss out on this if you have time to get on.

January 18, 2015. We played here this morning. It's unbelievable that The last time this course was August, 2014. But in any case, the course played very well. It is in such pristine condition that it's so pleasurable to come out and play it. The greens here now are like their normal winter greens, which is super smooth super fast and so much fun to play it! The bunkers are in great shape with some new sand. 15 grounds are pristine. The fairways are gorgeous and so much fun to play it. So if you have been wanting to play this course, now is a great time.

This is a fun little course and the weather today isn't that hot- could be 98 with a mild humidity and very little wind.
The course is in it's very good condition for summer golf. Even the color of the whole. Ourse is so green. The greens aren't fast but it's nice and smooth. Bunkers are alright- the two I've been in and from what I see the guys coming out of it. Really very nice today. The cart girl came out a cuple times. Service was nice and pleasant. I'll keep this place as a go to without much planning.
