These fairways are so hard that you become afraid of hitting down on the ball because you might break a wrist. I did see some effort to water them for more grass but what they really need is a serious aerification with large holes. The soil is very very compacted. The greens that although have ball marks that are slow to heal are in good shape and roll true. Getting the line is always a challenge on these greens. The tee boxes are in excellent shape.

Play the ball as low as possible off the tee, except when hitting over the burns. You can shoot your best score here or your worst. Just depends on where you hit it. Course knowledge is a must. Buy the yardage book, the GPS can only help a little. Rated the Service good, but should be great. The staff in the morning was nice, but after the round as I went through the pro shop, I got a cold stare from the guy behind the counter. I said hello to him twice and he must be a mute because he didn't reply. It's called customer service for a reason. Other than that it was a perfect day.

Summerly is one of my favorite places to play so I was a bit surprised at the negative reviews it had been getting recently. I emailed the GM the day before my round and asked him about conditions. His reply was that they just had a 3 day mini tour tournament there and that conditions were good. When we checked in, we were told the greens had been double rolled and were in great shape running about a 10. The first thing you notice is that the grass is dormant, not a big deal. It's just that time of year. The positive is that well struck tee shots will roll forever. Greens were very nice which is most important to me. Bunkers were thin as were the fairways and rough, again, dormant conditions. If you are looking for lush conditions, Summerly is not it right now. However, I would strongly disagree that it is in terrible condition.

I am pretty sure that abc123 is a shill for this golf course. Joined March 4th, submitted a wholeheartedly positive review of a course that has been accurately portrayed as in shambles.

Let me add that this place is virtually unplayable. Conditions are pathetic, and I am really doubting that a quick turnaround is in the offing. I have nothing bad to say regarding the service, or the food, but that's not what we are here for. We play golf, not hand out Michelin Stars. This golf course is the worst ruination I have yet had the misfortune to play, and would not return if they paid me.

I dont know what the guy from temecula is thinking. You have to be borderline insane to think this course is in good shape or you gotta be underpriviliged. Yea pro shop staff is awesome but the buck stops there.

I recently played Links at Summerly in a 3 day mini tour event. I must say that this course is a MUST PLAY. I highly encourage everyone to get out and give this course a go. I wish I would have played a practice round first because of the uniqueness of the course. The course is your typical scottish links course. It is firm and fast, has many well-manicured bunkers, and some of the best greens I have putted on in a long time. After reading previous posts, I highly disagree with what some people had to say. Within the next month or so this course will be absoltley immaculate. If you haven't played Links at Summerly i would go play it very soon. Lastly, the golf shop staff was very informative and helpful with any information needed. Also, you have to go in and have lunch in the restaurant. There is not better golf course food around!

This course is in horrible condition. Seasoned skiers have a pair of "rock skis" for early season conditions when coverage is spotty so you don't kill your good skis on rocks. If you have a set of "rock clubs" take them to Summerly or you will destroy your clubs hitting out of waste bunkers full of marble sized gravel. This course is so bad I want my $15 back! The ducks that live in the shallow lakes and marshes poop all over the course. Fun!
The course is loaded with traps, hazards and burns, most can't be seen from the tee and you don't get any visual help of where the hazards are, no maps, sketches or gps images. the cart gps gives yardages, but not for all the hazards.
We were lured in by the cheap greens fees. Don't get sucked in to playing this miserable track laid out in a huge flood retention basin. That's right, the entire course is surrounded by large mounds that look like they are designed to hold back a huge amount of water. Just as well, flood the course and forget you ever heard of this dog track! Better yet, try skydiving at the facility just south of the course. The highlight of the day was watching the skydivers glide back down to their jump zone.
Raise your right hand and take the oath. i will never drive past so many nice courses with reasonable greens fees to play a horrible course with dirt cheap greens fees that leave me feeling miserable, frustrated and pissed off I drove so far to try and save a few bucks. Play well!
