Played 8/19. Never seen the course this wet when it hasn't rained. Fairways were mushy and needed a shave. Greens looked like the surface of the moon. Ball marks are not healing. Other than those two comments, the course is in good shape. Lots of water and wildlife in areas normally dry. Good test of golf when you think you think you've got game.

I think the low ratings are due to a lot of duffers who can't play this type of course. I would recommend this course for anyone below say a 12 handicap. Others should stay away as they will only caus... Continue »

Others should stay away as they will only cause themselves a lot of anguish by getting in trouble and others a lot of anguish by being super slow. This is not a course for someone who doesn't have at least a decent game.

Oh, and absolutely loved the burns......

I firmly believe that previous negative (or average) reviews of this course are players that have no clue what links golf is supposed to be. This is a great course! Tee boxes were excellent, fairways firm and green and the greens were decent. Too many ball marks, but that seems to be the case everywhere. We rode, but with the exception of the loooooooong walks to the first tee and from the 9th to the 10th, I would prefer to walk this course. This is definitely a thinking golf course. I bought the yardage book and played smart and safe... put up close to a personal best score. My grip-it-and-rip-it partner got eaten alive. Will be purchasing an annual membership, even though I live 40 miles away... course is that good.

I thought they were an 8+. Fairways are always thin here. That is part of the links allure. You will get some thin lies. You will need to adjust your game to the course. The course will not adjust to you. (Wow that was profound.)

I was told by staff that it was purchased by the owners of Redhawk. Staff is great and some good deals in the pro shop can be had. Prime Rib on Thursday is very good.

Played the course on July 5 after an early morning drive. Thanks to the great staff and starter, I was able to get out on the course before 7 am as it was a busy day on the course. Also, I played with a few locals who knew the course, so their tips were helpful.

I like the links course with rolling fairways and Scottish-style burns to make the golf an enjoyable experience. While I had a yardage book that provided some assistance, the course has more than a couple of tricks up its sleeve to make it deceiving. I avoided plenty of fairway bunkers, was successful in greenside bunkers and putted extremely well considering. I walked the course and only needed a ride from my fellow golfers at the long turn between 9 and 10.

Something that was hard to get used to was the lack of targets to aim your tee shots, but other than that, the course, pace of play and experience was well worth the drive. Just like Rustic Canyon, I could play this course continually and not become bored as you can play it in a variety of ways.

Played Thurs 7-22-10: The course has matured since we played here about a year ago, extra growth around the course has kept a natural like setting for the ducks and other birds. At this time, the fairways are on the thin side still very playable. ALL of the fairways have been "WHITE" lined to create a new contour for distinguishing the fairway from the rough. Speaking of the rough, there is none at this time, this would most likely change once the fairways are up to speed (watering). Just a few holes are cart path only and try to use the 90* rule. I'll upload recent photos.

The greens look fast but really are on the slow side in comparison, some are undulating but not too severe. Way too many pitch/ball marks that are NOT being repaired properly yet still playable but was a little disappointed people don't take the time to fix "their" marks.

This is a thinking golf course! We had our GPS units and PRO LINK GPS are provided on the golf carts but will need a few rounds to learn how to play certain golf holes. BE AWARE of the BURNS and yardages to CARRY the burns! At this time, these are dry but are stroke killers...The bunkers were average looking, I did not get into them all day.

The practice area some days will allow to hit off the grass vs mats. Plenty of practice putting greens to choose from.

I have not been to Scotland but I'm told this course is as close as you can to playing a Links Golf Course! Played it twice and will be back many times more!

It isn't a course for hackers - you need to be a good golfer to really enjoy it. Maybe that's why all the gripes that people have posted. Stay away if you are looking for an easy round - I would recommend other nice places along the 15 freeway like Goose Creek, which are a lot more lush and easier to play.
