Played Thursday 1/29 early tee time. With a weak fog lingering on the front yielding to sunny skies as we turned. POP 4:10 riding. Seasonal fog kept the 40 degree temps around and layering was important. $53 with cart joining a long established weekly group of seniors I had played with a few years back. Listed M-Th $61

Course was damp with morning dew. Through the green damp not many if any muddy areas a few clumps. Long time wet areas (like approach on #1) drainage added this winter. Some of the briar patches also addressed this winter. Notably right side of 7. Still shots out of the ample corridors are goners. Tee boxes good all flat with #7 white redone and grown out just needing to be mowed. Without leaves on the mature trees hard to tell but I think some work on those as well to allow more sunlight. Seems more open summer will tell.

Greens good in-line with rates. A bit slower and a few ball marks as expected at this public course privately owned. Fairways in winter condition. The bunkers are variable I was in one greenside which was fine.Fairway bunker on LS 18 was being worked on and unmarked but we played it as obvious GUR. Others appeared fine, but my partners commented not enough sand.

Dig deeper into other reviews for details if you need more. Final word the consistency of conditions from year to year and season to season is what stands out to me. Recommend.

Played on Mandatory Golf Friday 1/16 to open up the 2026 season.
Called to be added a last minute addition to the group my buddy booked early in the week. Was too nice weather wise not to adjust my schedule and get out there. Many others had the same idea as the course was busy busy. Being in the foothills above the fog a factor too. 9 hole rate $19 walking / $28 shared cart holding prices from last year. 2 1/2 hr POP

Course is in good muni shape. Two and 1/2 holes CPO and some wetness lingering after a lot of early Jan rain. Now 7 days of mostly sunny with 7 more forecast. Conditions should be improving daily through the green. The greens good running a bit slower than normal. #2 back left gur one spot. I said to my friends who don't play much that these greens are the most tricky to putt because the nuances are not revealing to the eye. Deceptive speed so a lot to like. Score well here you can score anywhere.

Not much to add from my previous reviews. Repeating it's a kool laid back family vibe here. Local favorite of many, good value. Recommend

This private course is about an hour north of Sacramento. I have played it a handful of times in the last 12 years. Recently twice this year (2025) using the Golf moose voucher.
Since GK and moose are working events in SoCal I asked John to put this course up for review in case a GK'er wants to "Know Before You Go" Here goes. 1:20 tee time

Consistent CC level of course conditions and walk-able. Most recent visit 10/30 was a great weather day and the tee sheet after 11 was filled with Golf moose players using their 10/31 expiring vouchers. That made it for slow play and we skipped the middle three holes on the back 9. To find open spaces coming in 16-18.

Greens had been micro punched but rolled real smooth firm and speedy. Great bunkers with white sand and carpet like fairways and penal thick rough. Mature Oak tree and redwood borders course can be and stretched to 6900 from the tips. All the golf anyone needs.
Warm-up areas (practice green, driving range) close to modest clubhouse. With outside snack shack for beverages. Laid back CC style. More pickups than sedans can seen in the parking lot and blue jeans ok for course attire.

One of the best courses in the area attested by the player I met last Sat. He mentioned the dues at around $400 a month. I think a discount is offered if you live long distance away.
Now you know if you see the golf moose deal again. Buy it and try it. I will make the hour drive with voucher in hand and use it early. Recommend.

Late fall review playing same time different date as last few.
On the predawn Nw drive and the first 4-5 holes the fog factor came into play. Almost burning off completely but then coming in as high clouds 42 degree tee off temp joined by two some from Yuba City to the north. Good company made it a fun round to compare notes and tales.
As 1st four-some got around nicely no rush under 4 hour pace 3rd out.
Wet with dew through the green made scoring more difficult. Leave season and rough thick enough to lose a ball or two. Which overall is good because it makes the course more challenging. Greens fresh mowed in good muni shape. Didn't visit any bunkers and with improved scoring (triple/triple) on the front 9 back to back par 5's (4&5) could have made a better than average total on the card.
Still a recommend as a good value and vibe.
