Played 1-11-18. Payed $225 on there California Golfer deal which also included a $75 gift card. Was paired with a threesome going out first at 7:40 and finishing in 4 hours and 10 minutes. Tee boxes were very nice, lush, level and cut semi tight. Fairways were in great shape, very lush and a little soft so not much roll out but the ball would sit up very nice. Rough was 2-3 inches and very healthy, and in great shape, ball would sit down so getting out of it was a challenge. Was in three greenside bunkers all of which had some of the nicest sand I have ever played from. Greens were in great shape, a little slow but rolling smooth without a blemish. One of my favorite courses that never disappoints.

Just a spectacular course. Obviously as others have said the course is in immaculate condition. Tee boxes, fairways, greens, and sand traps are all in fantastic shape. Last time I played we took a cart. Today we decided to walk and it makes the journey even better! Yes, the first five holes are on the water and offer spectacular views. However, if you walk it and are out in the middle of the fairway, there are plenty of additional peaks at the ocean.

The par 3's all play downhill but don't get fooled, they are tricky and difficult (but extremely fun). There are a few water hazards mixed in on the track which adds to beauty and challange.

Course is definitely a must play for both the beauty and the challange!

What can I say about this course that hasn't already been said, the course solidified why Spyglass is my all time favorite. The course is in perfect shape. Even after leaving the ocean view holes the course is just as beautiful in the forest. Many elevation changes that make club selection difficult. My caddie was great in helping choose the correct club. Was in only one bunker and even after heavy overnight rains it was still in excellent shape. As a previous review says, Spyglass is a must play. Did I say the conditions right now are a perfect 10.

Come on! It's SPYGLASS. From the understated clubhouse and grill to the ocean view holes this course exudes class. Simply magnificent. The course was in pristine condition. We chose to walk it, which turned out to be a great idea since it was cart path only. The guys who opted for a cart ended up walking twice as far. After the ocean holes you head into the Del Monte forest. Many holes are lot more uphill than they appear on television and the par 3s are extremely challenging. Getting to the green isn't enough, you have to put it on the correct part. Normally it's four bills plus cart fee to play, but we were able to play for $230 -a rare deal in July. For that price, I'd play it anytime.

Played mid morning on July 2nd on another chilly and overcast day. Tobi and I got an awesome caddy named Shawn who took fantastic care of us the entire round. We did a combo of walking and riding in the cart for this round. Shawn took care of the cart on the holes we wanted to walk and hoofed it when we felt lazy. This course is just freaking spectacular. I felt incredibly spoiled. Now the holes are not quite as dramatic as Pebble, but this course gives you some of the best "Forest" holes I think you could imagine. Greens - lightening fast and firm, but our caddy really knew what he was doing. I had 29 putts here and could easily see having around 40 without him. Bunkers - WOW!!!!! easily the best bunkers I have ever hit out of. I see why the pros love bunkers. Fairways - not a hair out of place.... Rough - 100% consistent from hole 1 through 18....and perfect...a little long in the deep rough..but hey, that is what you get when you miss that much. Tee boxes - fine..nothing to complain about here.... Scenary - we saw deer all day long.....Tobi fed some of them....just so cool. I would play this course every day if I could. Pebble is a course you HAVE to play, but Spyglass is the course I WANT to play. the rating didn't show up....but I am giving it a 9.9 - 10...oh, just make it a 10..it was perfect.

Played Spyglass for the first time today and I can say that this was the greatest golf experience I have ever had. Tees, fairways, and greens are incredible. Greens were med fast with breaks that are difficult to read. My caddie saved me at least 10 strokes. The sand in the bunkers was without a doubt the best sand I have ever played out of. The only part of the course that wasn't up to perfect standards is the rough. Very spotty and the is because of the drought I was told. Tee'd off at 10:00 sharp and finished right at 2:45. The first 5 holes are incredible and are the only ocean view holes there are. The remaining holes move you through the forest. 1st hole had deer droppings down the fairways, not sure if they pooped on the course or if we were playing through their bathroom. It doesn't matter, because of the greatness of this course. Small clubhouse that is no more than a muni style club house, but it fits the course beautifully. The range is off mats but very nice mats. Play here and splurge for a caddie, and enjoy golf the way it was meant to be played. Pebble here I come tomorrow and you have a lot to live up to, to beat Spyglass

Played here 2/17/14. Believe it or not, this was my second favorite course I played this week. (See Pebble Beach review....)

Very unassuming pro shop and grill on either side of 17 mile drive, with almost a municipal feel, but I loved that part of it. Great service from the moment I pullled in. Only mats to practice from on this day (dissapointing), but a very nice, large chipping and putting green.

Conditions on course were spectacular. As one of the courses in the AT&T rotation about 1 week before, conditions appeared to be tournament quality.

Great par 5 opener, twisting right to left downhill towards the giant water hazard none as the Pacific Ocean. Next 4 holes, (2 short par 4, and 2 par 3) were exposed to ocean breeze / wind , and were all very tough holes. # 4 was one of the most unique holes I ever played. Dogleg right to left with an hour glass shaped, rolling, very long and narrow green. Several deer just cruising through the area on this hole. (Which became a theme throughout...Must have seen 40-50 deer around the course as you make the turn up the hill) You start back uphill on 6, then wind through tree lined holes the rest of the way. I don't think we had any ocean views after #5. I loved the holes heading back up and through the trees. A little less affected by the elements, but this is a very difficult course, so choose tees wisely.

Dozens of perfect white sand bunkers, lush fairwys, near perfect greens and interesting and challenging layout all the way around. Mostly short, downhill par 3's which seemed a little odd, given the enormity of the rest of the course. Will go down in the books as one of my all-time favorites, but will explore other courses on the penuts ula next time I get there.

Highly recommend and would probably pay the extra cash for a caddie, given my experience the following day at PB.

Played last Thursday and there were only 10 groups that were going off according to the starter. I played with another single and there was another 2some and a couple of foursomes in front of them so we just took our time around the course. The course was in fantastic shape with the exception of the greens. I remember hole 14 the green was terrible. It was brown with a bunch of punched holes. Most of the greens were pretty bumpy making it difficult for me to tell the true speed of the greens. The fairways, rough and tee boxes were all great. I was in one bunker and it was absolutely the best sand I have hit out of. The first 5 holes are really wonderful and unlike the rest of the course. These are out on the ocean and then you get back into the tree lined course. I thought this was one of the best layouts I have ever played. The holes did not feel like they were on top of each other and requires some thought into each shot. Even though the greens were a bit of a disappointment I still had a great time out here.

Played on Sept 20 & 23, 2012 and enjoyed this course alot. We had caddies which helped a great deal as the greens did have some subtle breaks that were hard to read. This is a tough track that plays about 500yds longer than the card as quite a few holes run uphill. We played the gold tees first time and got somewhat beat up as there was a good wind blowing. The second time we played the whites but could have easily played the golds as the wind was down. Would recommend this course to all as it really is a special place. The course is in great shape, the only issue was the rough had been aerated a few weeks back and was spotty. Customer service is as good as it gets as we were treated very well by all the staff.
