Nice well kept course in Roseville. Nice range. Challenging course from blue ttes; little short from whites. Definitely worth the green fees as they are very reasonable.

Played this curse last month (August) and have played it numerous times prior to that. One group I play with schedules this course several times a year. The greens are in poor condition as are parts of the fairways -- not uncommon on the public courses in the Sacramento area due to the heat and clay soil conditions. The tee boxes are poor with countless divot marks and uneven lies. The greens are not true, over-watered in places, and marked by shoe marks and ball marks. Most public courses suffer from marks on the greens but Woodcreek has more than it's fair share due to poor greenskeeping. I am told that the City of Roseville has moved the greenskeeper from Diamond Oaks (fantastic greens) to Woodcreek to try and solve the problem. In my book this course is a tricked up, or gimmicked, track because the plot of land they had to work with was not large enough to accommodate a championship, or even typical, layout. Consequently there are many holes with obstructions like power lines and strangely placed trees, gullies, etc. Many severe doglegs and quite a few blind shots. In the summer this course suffers from the heat and shows signs of overwatering while other areas die out from the heat. The rough is very long and it is tough stuff to get out of. If you love short, target, tricky courses hitting fairway woods and irons from the tee then this place is for you. It has a decent driving range playing music all the time, good putting green and a chipping green. Staff is courteous and the facilities are nice.

Woodcreek is a good track for the price, but it has some mounds in fairways that saddle you with a sidehill lie and penalizes a good shot. Greens rolling a little slow today, but except for some minimal ball mark damage, rolled pretty true to the line you could read. Fairways are mostly good (soggy in places while they water them up in anticipation of the next heat wave) but if you get off under the trees...well, it's hard to grow grass under a spreading oak tree, but the dirt is forgiving! Friendly staff...all in all, a good experience for a city-run course.

Sand is better, though still pretty compacted, but that's to be expected. 2 tee boxes were closed off for repair/rebuilding, so that's good... looked like they were close to being ready. Fairways are in nice shape, and they were cutting down the rough today.

I enjoy this course. It makes you think, yet gives you an opportunity to save yourself if you're spraying it off the tee a little. Definitely worth the price of admission.

This was my first time on Woodcreek, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a fun layout. Interesting, not overly hard, but makes you think about where you're trying to put the ball.

This was my first time on Woodcreek, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a fun layout. Interesting, not overly hard, but makes you think about where you're trying to put the ball.

It's been raining for months straight, and yesterday was the first clear, sunny day, so everybody and their brother was out to play, so it was pretty slow, though it only took an hour to get on as a single.

Of course, the rain has left everything soggy, and some spots were very mushy, but overall, it was pretty playable. The greens were a little like shag carpet, and putted really slow, but they've nearly recovered from the punching a couple weeks ago. Fairways were nice if they weren't wet, but you sure didn't get any roll off the tee. Rough was not bad, though the weeds were pretty long and penal if you got that far off the fairway. Sand was hard and compacted, but I'm sure they'll have it raked out in a day or two. Tees were pretty good conditionwise, but there are a few that are pretty crowned, so a flat stance was tough.

I'll definitely be back soon, Woodcreek is a very nice little muni course.

Staff friendly and helpful. Course generally in good condition. Greens recenty punched,but playable. Good value. Pace of play acceptable during the week.
