Definitely worth the price. Conditions are fair, especially considering that not enough resources are put into maintenance. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Signature 17th hole has beautiful ocean views, as do a few other holes. Tough, hilly walk. Carts need upgrading, especially since it's so hilly. Trees are constantly in play. Couple great downhill tee shots. The course is short, but challenging due to undulating lies. Play is slow on weekends, but fast during the week.

Played Sat 5/14/05. The only good thing to say about Lincoln is the the spectacular views. The weather was great, clear skies and very little wind. The course, as always is a wreck. The grass that has been cut in the fairways is a good 5" thick. You could loose your ball in the fairway if you don't keep an eye on where it lands. The greens are the worst I've ever seen. They are no where near recovered from airation. They don't cut the grass on the greens like a normal course. These greens look like they have hair on them. It's a good 1/4" high. It's like putting on the plastic mats at the driving range. The carts they have are the worst I've ever seen. We had two carts break down on the front nine. You better carry your cell phone so you can call the pro shop and have them drive a replacememnt cart out to you. Thankfully, I only play here about once a year.

The City, SF Recs & Parks only provides 4 gardeners to Lincoln Park. The gardeners do a poor job of maintaining the greens, at times they create most of the damage to the green surface with their tracker mowers, and they take forever to repair their damages. It's like they don't care. They drive a pickup truck onto the fairways and will leave tire tracks there for weeks on end without fixing the deep trackmarks. The course has a serious irrigation problem, and certain areas of the fairway are muddy. It's like winter rules all year round. The course operations are good people but they don't have much to work with, since they operate on a month to month basis.
