There were may fairway woods to choose from. Titleist, Rocketballz, Adams but I was interested in how this club looks and feels. I tested it out and the launch monitor said this was the best one. I have the TM Superfast Tp 2.0 in 15 degrees with a matrix radix 7 hd shaft in stiff flex. Shaft measures 43 inches. Upgraded to a Black Widow tour silk grip in white. First off the white look and classic shape looks phenomenal. The used price was 149.99 and along with my trade in Tour edge exotics and coupon I paid $121 after everything was said and done at roger dunn in West LA. This club is very long. Carry is about 245 and with roll the club reaches 250-260. The Tp model has a 2 degree open face along with a weight in the toe of the club. I prefer this setup because I tend to hit a draw/hook and this keeps the club square at impact. I love this club and at times when the driver is too much I love hitting this club off the tee. I would have given this club all five stars but because of the smaller head and longer shaft accuracy can be a bit off at times but the lighter shaft and low torque make up for it in distance. Also the price for a brand new one when it first came out was 249.99 to 299.99 but since I got it at a steal price I gave it 4 stars. The feel of this club is excellent. Sounds solid at impact but can be a bit "tingy". Overall I love this club at address and step up it looks very clean and sexy. The lower clubhead and white paint scheme makes this club look slick at address. I have the matching TP driver (read my other review). I previously had a tour exotics 13 degree and as much as I loved that club this club hits just at long if not longer. This club is not for the high handicap player as it will promote a fade and in most cases a slice for those who have a hard time controlling ball flight and line. I am a 7 handicap and for the price and money this club suits me well. » Close

Taylormade Superfast Burner 2.0 TP 9.5* HD6 stiff flex.
This driver has completely changed my golf game. This driver is long. I mean really long. I switch balls between the Pro V1, Pro V1x, and Penta 5. The Penta 5 and Pro V1x combination is the best I have witness so far. I bought mine used from Roger Dunn. The used price was 149.99. I think they might have put on the wrong price. I used the $10 off coupon and after taxes it came out to a little over $150 but considering this driver brand new last year was $399.99 I think it was a great deal. The shaft is a lot lighter than my last Aldila shaft and weighs like 65 or 66 grams. I took the old grip off and slapped on the new black widow silk grip on and the white head and grip combo looks great. At first I was hesitant about getting a white headed driver but the launch monitor said I was carrying it 270 yards. I think it was inflated a bit with the top flight balls but on the driving range at Rancho Park I have no problem carrying the fence at the back of the range. Distance is insane on this driver. My previous 909 D3 driver was pretty good but I tended to hook my drives so the two degrees of open face on the TP model made a big difference. I can set it open at address and use my normal swing and it flies dead straight or with a slight draw. I am now averaging about 260-270 off the tee and being only 150lbs at 5'7". The extra weight on the toe of the club promotes an open to square face at impact for those of use who tend to shut the face at impact. The sound this club makes is nice. It is not a tin can noise or loud but a nice thump with solid feedback. At impact you can feel how solid this driver is. The shaft is half an inch longer than most at 45.5 and can be "whippy" at times but is very stable throughout the swing. I thought about getting the R11 or the 910D3 but once you set the club to your settings you don't really change it much so I figured this would be a wise investment. I am now hitting more mid irons and wedges into most greens on courses that I play on a regular basis. I have always been a Titleist guy but once I bought the TM SP TP driver I was a believer. The white crown and white face makes picking your target line easier and definitely decreases glare unlike black head drivers. I love the driver so much that I went out and got the TM superfast TP 3 wood and it is just as good as the driver. If you have a chance to pick one up for under $200 go get it. I give it five stars because it is the longest driver I hit and excels in every category. I am now averaging in the low 80's to high 70's and it has a lot to do with this driver. » Close

Needless to say, a 3 wood is likely needless for me. But....if I could only hit it right then I'd be on my way to an eagle on every par 5. An idle dream of the daydreaming golfer, for sure.

I'd been thinking about replacing my trusty Adams fairway wood. My main criteria were shallow face and ability to hit shots from the fairway with the most forgiveness.
Well I went to Roger Dunn and went on the machine. In the past I've found that the machine underestimates my driving distance. My average driving distance is about 230 to 240 yards but the highest I can ever get on the machine with drivers at RD is 195-220.
*drum roll* 250yards. That's right , off the deck 250 yards(the max) but consistently hit between 217 and 240 depending on the quality of my ball striking. Bought it and went out to test it at Harding the next day. Worked as advertised. Even slightly off center hit on 18th left me with a 30 yard chip and easy in.
It's true that a 3 wood is probably a luxury club, but depending on the course (Rustic, or other reachable par 5s it is a great club to have and for me, at least, inspired confidence. » Close

I have used ping eye 2 beryllium copper red dots for 2 decades. these 2.0 burner irons are the closest thing to my old red dots. They are kind of pricey like most clubs, but the feeling at impact is second to none. These beat the R11's in every category.

I came to these clubs after gaming a set of Wilson Dyna Power Fluid feel blades. The blades offered zero forgiveness and would sting the hand and sprain the wrist when mi sh$t .
I went down to the PGA Tour SS and hit everything they had in irons in my price range, the new Wilsons (DI9s), Clevelands, Pings, just about everything. The Taylormades came up longest on the simulator, but they also came up straightest. I picked them despite having a slight bias against Taylormade for being the latest, greatest most hyped up thing.
The clubs get max points from me for distance, I'll leave it to others to argue about the loft and the length of the shafts. Whatever they have done I get more distance and more forgiveness.
I've marked down the clubs for playability even though they still curve a bit because these are not meant to be player's irons. The feel and appearance still gets high marks from me, I like the look of the club, and I can still feel a well struck ball but with the graphite shafts I do not get the pain in my hands, forearms and wrists I use to get from my old blades.
I got these clubs from Callaway Preowned with a special running for $218 -- an absolute steal.
I like the gray smoky color but it does wear away where the ball frequently strikes the club face. This does not bother me but may bother others. The clubs I got had a season's worth of use but despite this seemed to be in quite good condition and had held up well to wear and tear. » Close

This has been a great addition to my bag, I have my distance back. I thought I was doomed to less distance because of age. I don't turn like I used to. This club feels light and swing speed has definitely increased without any extra effort. It is longer than the tour burner I had before. I like the white face as you can see the path on practice swings. It doesn't make a difference when hitting the ball. I like the feel and sound of this driver. Very forgiving on off center hits. You still need to make a good swing, but it will correct some flaws compared to older technology. The head cover is a little too white and flashy for me, but the club is staying.. » Close

For years, I was always the furthest off the tee (TaylorMade Titanium Driver with the bubbleshaft) when playing my friends. But a couple of years ago I began to notice that I was being passed up on a regular basis. I had club envy but was reluctant to change because my driver was straight and steady 265 to 280 down the middle. Then, during a tourney, a guy in our foursome had the 2009 Burner. I asked to try it out and crushed it like never before. I played it for four holes and it was love at first sight. I bought it the next week for a mere $149. Then I bought the 3 wood and the pair are directly responsible for me dipping into the 70's for the first time in my career. Buy with confidence. » Close

Soft feeling two piece golf ball with very low compression. The thing I don't like about this ball is that I've lost about 15 to 25 yards off the tee. But, ironically, I've gained it back with my irons. I'm 1 club less into the greens and this ball spins and stops.
