played ridgeline/creekside - overall the course is in very good shape and the greens hold nicely and are rolling fast. just too d%mn windy! seems every time out the wind is blowing at least 20mph. some of the traps were very unevenly raked which made for some very interesting lies. other than the wind, it was well worth it.

played Canyon/Ridgeline saturday 11/3 and overall the course is in good shape and has recovered nicely from aeration and overseeding. what i don't get is why on this morning they did not move the pin locations from the day before? maybe even longer! on every green the areas around the pin were beat and bumpy and we played before 10. if you went to just the next quadrant, the greens were smooth and nice. did someone forget? or are they just lazy? it was extremely disappointing to be playing on greens that looked like they do at the end of the day instead of the beginning. the super should have his license revoked for that one.

course is in good shape and the greens are rolling great. it was cart-path only due to overseeding, but that should end soon because the fairways looked and played great.

if you've played torrey in the past, then it's what you always expect. Great views, spotty conditions in some areas and very challenging. Greens rolled good. Tee boxes could be better and don't get in that rough! Not long, but it wants to grab your ball and keep it. Worth the visit, but don't expect to play the best conditioned course you've ever played and don't think about the money.

course is in decent shape. typical overwatering for the hot summer days. tee boxes on the back nine are sanded and soggy. greens are smooth but not very fast. great layout and challenging from all tees.

the goose is playing great. worth the money and the drive. greens are a little bumpy, but overall you can't ask for more. tee boxes are good, fairways good, just a little soggy in places to ward off the high heat. that's to be expected.

here's the good news, yes the course is more playable. it is still a stern test of golf, it doesn't seem like the torture chamber it was before. the bad news...not worth it, on all fronts. chewed up tee boxes, thin brown fairways and divot damaged greens. this is not the premiere golf course they are selling. all the elements are there, but you'd think after being closed for a year the course would be emmaculate. it's nowhere close to being worth the weekend rate. the other premiere courses that change that premium are 10 times more worth it. if this is the best they can do after a year then count me out.

played 5/5 cyn crest/ridgeline - greens on boths courses were playing slower than normal, but rolled true. soft too. canyon crest is in great shape from tee to green. the tee boxes on ridgeline had been punched, but nothing severe. overall a great day. not sure if the greens fee of 120 for a saturday is going to make me come back too often though.

the course is in great shape. the greens are firm, but smooth and true. and FAST too! be prepared to 3 jack a few times if you've been playing the shaggy, punched greens of late.

played 2/11 in the morning after the heavy rains and the course held up like a champ. you'd have no idea that it poured hours before. fairways are good and the greens are not the fastest, but true and best of all, people at sterling fix their ball marks! either everyone there is doing their jobs or the staff is running around out there fixing marks, but easily the best i've seen in the area. the only negative is the tee boxes. other posters have mentioned it, but the tee boxes are far from being in good shape. massive divots without people putting seed in, uneven lies, overall could use some improvement. aside from that, from some grass and play, it's worth it.

still one of the best courses in the area. surprised to see how much ball damage was on the greens of the Canyon nine. i know the members get first crack at this nine, so are they not repairing their marks? i expect much better for this course. overall, still a pleasure to play and worth the trip.

the course has recovered nicely from the damage done during the summer. surprised to see as much ball mark damage on the greens, but overall a good time.
