Have not played here in a few years, but it is a must if you are in the area. One of the finest courses you can play!

Played for the first time since the winter rains. Course is in OK shape, T-boxes generally uneven, sand traps looked good although I was not in only one. Fairways generally good, few areas of rain damage, greens still bumpy and slow from the aeriation - growing back in with little green dots where holes were punched not even. Hole #6 has a temporary green. Back nine is more interesting as lake(s) are filled up again and the creek is much larger with a more significant visual effect with erroded banks. We were second off and finished in 3 hours walking, so I still don't get 5+ hour rounds here. I think the course should hold up during the spring - it is a nice value track with some interesting holes. Worth the green fee.

Have not played the course since January due to rain/closure and forgot what a fine place this is! Played Thursday afternoon by myself hitting two balls - walking and got done in 3 1/2 hours.

What a bargin at $20! Lets see thats 15 holes x 2 balls = 30 holes... $20/30 effective golf holes = .66 per hole X 18 holes = $12 effective round! You can not find a place anywhere for this quality and price........back to the course.

Boxes are still healing from punching and sanding. Fairways immaculate, many bunkers have been re-filled with sand and are in better shape. Greens are almost healed, sand is still prevelant and slowing them down some, give them two weeks and they will be excellent. There is still lots of construction on the front side and a few spots on back. Make sure you bring your own water as many of the watering stations are gone and it gets hot back in the canyon. No cart service when I played.

Nice way to spend an Thursday afternoon!

Played 2/6, sand generally wet and heavy, greens nice, boxes ok to poor, fairways generally ok, some thinning areas. Driving range is iron's only as the fence on the course side is blown over. Most likely won't be fixed as they are going to shut down the course in 4-6 weeks for a re-model. Heard that the re-model of Buena Ventura is very nice. Looking forward to playing it. Olivas will be shut down for about a year for it's re-work.

Played 2/4 as noted in other posts - course is in great shape except for some of the T-boxes are a little rough. Greens roll pretty quick but are soft and balls stick pretty well. Pace of play a little slow for a Friday morning but overall a great track and value.

Played a Saturday tournament and I would like to commend the management on a well run course. They were putting groups off in 10 min intervals, had marshals every three or four holes with time sheets. Any group falling behind was encouraged to keep up. Groups playing from the improper T's were asked to move up. Consequently we were done in 4:15 on a Saturaday tournament no less. Wish more courses managed in such an excellent manner. Well done RiverRidge.

Oh by the way course in good shape, greens a little soft and bumpy - expected with all of the rain. Sand traps are excellent. Overall nice day. Recommend you give it a try particularly if you hate Saturday 5+hour rounds.

Talked to one of the pros and he indicated that they were trying to get the range and the back 9 open within a week or so. He indicated that numbers 4, 6 & 7 were complete losses and will have to be totally rebuilt. He said the good news was they at least know what a worst case rain/runoff is now and can rebuild the course accordingly.

Got in the front nine on Friday afternoon/eve. Fairways in great shape. Some of the greens/fringes showing ball marks. Number 7 is back to a par 4 and appears to be holding up in all of this rain.

I know most people on reading these posts already fix their ball marks - but make sure you fix them on Rustic's large fringes, particularly when it is soft like now. Better yet fix three on each green and fringe and this will help keep this gem in good shape even with the large amount of play it gets.

Yeah.......... it finally stopped raining enuf to play some golf. Got through 14 before having to head off for New Years festivities.

bg: Talked to a friend who had played the lakes nine and said it was pretty good. Will try it and post one of these days.

The course was obviously very wet from the recent rains and the fairways and greens were a little long since they probably were not able to mow them with the weather. The brown areas mentioned in a previous post are filling in because of all of the rains, so give them a week of sun and time to mow the course and it should be in very nice shape.

Come to think of it the ramp down to the driving range is pretty steep...........

Still a great track even with the windmill hole....

You forgot the:

bread, bread, bread

BTW they should add a windmill to number 17 and that would fix it the problem.....
