Played today at 10:30am as a 4some and finished in about 4 1/2 hrs with some waiting at the tees. Tees and fairways were in very good shape. Some brown spots in the fairways but didn't have any burned dirt areas at all. Greens were just excellent. Somewhat soft but had good medium fast speed. No ballmarks to fix other than our own.
Just a very nice course in excellent condition. Highly recommended.

Thanks to the generosity of GK members, we took advantage of their free green fee offer and paid $40 cart fee for our 2some. Played 12/11 @ 10am and finished in 4 hrs. Never saw anyone in front or behind us all day.
Course has been reopen for less than a month so the conditions are great/perfect. It almost feels like they have prepared the course for a pro tourney with the exception of the rough being cut to about 1 to 2 inches. Tee to green, I don't think I have played a course in better condition than RH at this time.

If you approach this course as a golf purist, I'm sure you would love everything about this course as the prior review has noted. For us (me and my wife), we had also expected to be wowed by the facility, views, service, etc. Maybe due to such expectations going in, I felt a little bit let down. Distant desert views were good but looked pretty much the same from any angles, limited number of service personnel so no help in loading or unloading, etc.

Still, it's a course in perfect condition with good enough desert/distant mountain views that is aboutl 70 miles inland from Pechanga resort. I'm thankful and glad that I got to play it almost free. But I would not make the trip if I had to pay $100 per. Even $75 per would be pushing it due to the distance factor. I can't imagine many would go play it at their current prime rate of $150.

While the course is in perfect condition for play, there's still some construction going on outside of the clubhouse and other landscaping areas. If you're a golf purist, go play now but if you are more like us, I would say give them another month or so in order to complete their non course related presentation.

Played 12/1 @ 9am as a 2some behind a foursome and finished in 5 hrs. We had to wait for some tee shots but the waits weren't long. Main reason for the 5 hr round was probably for the walk up and down to tees and greens. You got to be in reasonable shape to play this course. It's my 2nd time playing here and probably enjoyed it more this time around. Every hole here is a photo op. Customer service and course conditions here are just great. It's one of the more expensive courses but I don't think anyone would ever feel they didn't get their money's worth. The only other comment is that because of the forced carries, my wife played from the Reds and you do not get the Wolf Creek experience playing from the Reds. Just a great course.

Played 11/30 @ 12pm as 2some behind a slow 3some. Slow group waived us thru on hole 9 so we had clear sailing thereafter and finished in under 4 hours. Tees and fairways were recently overseeded so it was in good condition but not yet completely filled in. Greens rolled well but a little slow. You can tell they've had lots of problems with the greens as there were many signs of previously burned out areas prior to recent aerifying.
First time playing here and we enjoyed the course for the views and elevation changes. However, if you don't know the course well it's easy to lose balls even after what you thought was a good shot. Back 9 views are especially nice here. We were told the designer of Wolf Creek helped in design of back 9 here so it does have a mini Wolf Creek feel.
Good value course and would recommend.

Played today @11:12am as a twosome. Finished in 5hrs as we had to wait on every hole. Course seems to be coming around nicely as most of the fairway landing areas are more green than brown. Seems if you keep your shots on intended landing areas, chances are your ball will be sitting on green grass. But if you go offline, it's mostly dirt. Greens were good with the exception of few holes with excessive badly fixed ball marks.
We were a bit hesitant to play this course today with mostly negative recent reviews but we ended up enjoying the day with mostly good playing conditions. It still isn't pleasing to the eye with many dirt/brown areas but I would say the course is now definitely "playable".

Like the last review, we also travelled 3 hrs one way to find the only cool spot in so cal yesterday. 12:04pm tee time and finished in about 4 3/4 hrs. Did not mind the slight delay to hit shots as the we were just enjoying the cool ocean breeze and mid 70 temps. Conditions are just great from tee to green so nothing more to add to prior reviews. The only minor complaint was that after driving 3 hours to get there, the only food available was premade sandwich or hot dog at the pro shop. We'll need to leave even earlier to allow for some food time off site. Strongly recommended.

Played Sunday 7/20 @ 11am as a 2some and finished in about 3 hrs. Not many people starting their round in late morning this day so pace was excellent. Overall condition was good but many brown out spots within 50 yds of tee box did not add to visual appeal. Although fairways were mostly green, there were enough burnout spots to affect play. Course also has gone more "shaggy" overall in an attempt to reduce burnout. Greens looked ok but were slow. Still very puttable except for short downhill putts which could not hold the line. With a deal, value for dollar is excellent but understand its middle of summer in PS. Still recommended but I'd probably choose to play Palm course instead.

Played 7/13, 1:00pm public shotgun. Started on time and finished in 4 1/2 hrs. First time playing here and really enjoyed the course. For a busy busy public course, overall conditions were excellent. OK tees, good fairways and greens except that the greens looked good and smooth but they were very slow. Just could not hit my putts hard enough all day. Very nice views of the Coronado by on the closing holes were a definite plus.
They will have another public shotgun in 2 weeks, so if anyone interested, strongly recommended.

Played today @ 10am. Our 2some joined by 2 singles. Both singles were local guys and good golfers so it flowed nicely. Finished in about 4 1/4 hrs so OK. It's always nice to play this course for its quality service and upscale ambiance. A little hot today but I'll trade it for the summer discounts. Condition from tee to green were great. Surprisingly every approach shot made a divot on the green which was unexpected during summer. Food at the Vue grill was a little pricy but couldn't complain. I did have some difficulty focusing on last few holes due to heat but I would recommend this course any time.

Played 5/9 @ 10:03. Our 2some joined by 2 singles. Took advantage of Underpar 2some deal. Pace was ok at about 4:15 but seemed slower. As expected, overall condition was good but it seemed they have cut back on water usage as the course seemed more brownish green rather than green/green. Due to higher temps, some of the greens had small burnout areas but did not affect play. Love the course for having wide fairways but the deep fairway bunkering made it a difficult day for at least 3 holes for me.
still a nice PS course for us to get away from the valley so a nice day. Recommended.

Played in a 7am public shotgun today. Started on 8th and finished in just under 4 1/2 hrs. Non SD resident rate of $120 seemed a bit high but was surprised and appreciative of how good the conditions were. We were told they cut the rough about a week ago but we still had great difficulty finding our balls. Could not imagine how the pros can hit it out of the rough before they were cut? It was more than 40 years ago when I last played Torrey and all I can say is it's not the same course. I'm sure it may get more wear and tear but for now, it's a great ocean view course with Palm Springs conditions. Not sure if I want to spend $200+ to play South but for $120 North is definitely worth the money.

Played 11/13/13 @ 11am. Our 2some joined by another 2some. Played here a few years ago and enjoyed it so wanted to try again. Knew it was going to be a long day when we saw 4 groups waiting on the first tee. After the first tee shot, it was pretty much hit and wait all day and the round lasted almost 5 hours. Although pace was slow, course condition was dry but very playable. Tees were somewhat shaggy but level, fairways were dry but well maintained. The only problem I had were with the greens. Greens looked fine and rolled fast, however they just didn't hold the line.
Overall, if you can handle slow pace, it's one of better conditioned courses in the inland and I would recommend it.
