Played March 28 twilight, getting out at 3:15 and easily finshing 18 by 7PM. The greens here are really good, well-maintained with few divot marks. The tee boxes and fairways, if you know the course, remain fair with bare patches in spots. Given the conditions of the greens, I will consider playing here more often than I have in recent years.

You know the old saying "If you can't say something nice ..... " Well the nicest thing I can say is the staff was great. Friendly and very accomodating. Able get out before the morning rush. Since it was carts on the path due I guess because of the rain Sunday, it sure helped to get out first. Even with COP still finished in well under 3 hours. What can I say about the course? The greens are the best part, reasonably quick and rolled fairly true. Otherside just not a lot of positives here. It looked like they are using a lot of wood chips off the teeing areas I guess to reduce water consumption and lower maintenance in cutting? I shouldn't be too critical because I know what to expect when I come here. It's just sad to see any golf course in this condition. But then if it was in nice shape and better designed, the green fees would be just as rediculously high as everything else on the OC. If all fairness, I must admit I enjoyed myself and will at some point visit again. This is a very "different" golf course and every so often it's nice to play something "quirky'

Played here on a cart path only Saturday and we didn't expect much, but we had a really good time we played as group of 5 and fort the most part had the course to ourselves as always the greens are good and there seems to be more and better grass than usual. We find the course to be a real challenge with many narrow long holes. This course does have sum issues but it is getting better. If you can t hit a straight drive r put the club away and forget what par on the card says. Enjoy the weather and the good customer service and remember be polite to the locals that live along the course. I've played better quality courses but with a good attitude and some good company this place can be a lot of fun

We have played here for years and it's had more downs than ups, but they are making changes and over the last year or so the lay out and playability have gotten better and the with the new greens They are adding and elimination of a bad holes things should get better. This will always be a iffy golf course but if you can get a deal and it's to hot to play anyplace else it can make for a nice day

Fairways are good in spots - but most fairways slope in a direction toward dirt areas. You have to KNOW & play away from the middle of those fairways. Areas of divots - they could be improved by the GOLFERS - just add some sand/seed mix provided. The problem is most golfers playing a public course are lazy. Teeboxes could be improved by adding a box with sand/seed to put into divots. That is my only REAL complaint - lack of teebox sand/seed mix. This course is narrow in spots. Only (1) hole with a blind shot. Course is taking out some trees to improve the greens & teeboxes covered in shade. Bunkers are a dirt/sand combination. Play the shot 1" back of the ball instead of 2" back & swing harder. Basically if you hit your drives straight - you will play well. If you spray - good luck or play the white or red teebox until you figure out where to hit your drives. Best course for the $ IMHO. I can afford to play anywhere but I choose Shorecliffs for the challenge from the blue tees.

The course is in okay shape. Inconsistency is the keyword here, as greens, fairways, and rough varied from hole to hole. Fairways are mostly thin but playable. Some greens are very quick and others medium fast. Tee boxes were pretty thin and a few weren't level. Bunkers I was in were good...I liked their sand. For the rate I paid, the course conditions are totally worth the green fee.

Played Shorecliffs today for the first time in a long time and was pleasantly surprised. I always liked this course because it does provide some diversity for a Muni. Greens today were in GREAT shape, a little hard so you couldn't really flag hunt but they rolled pretty true. Sand traps were in good shape, fairways decent some bare spots but overall pretty good. Excellent senior rate of $34 was well worth it. Enjoyable round!

Played Shorecliffs with my son this morning. Got a great deal on a 9:27 tee time through EZLinks. We were able to play by ourselves and pace was pretty decent all day. Finished in about 4:15, with the back nine a little slower than the front. Course is in pretty good shape. Greens are medium fast, fairly smooth and very soft. Fairways and rough a little spottier, but nothing to complain about. I wasn't in a bunker but my son said they were decent, soft on top but wet underneath. Tee boxes were just ok; lots of divots where they had the markers. Having played here many times in 1989 (this was our "practice" course for my high school golf team), I'm pretty impressed by how much better the course is now than it was then. I know that was a long time ago, but in my mind, it's difficult for me to lose the perception of Shorecliffs as a muddy pasture that calls itself a golf course. Fortunately, they've seemingly made lots of improvements that have made the course much more enjoyable and playable. I really admired the last review and and how mrjimmy embraced the course for the challenge that it is and chose to focus on the positives. I'm going to try to do that moving forward, hopefully shedding my old perception and returning here more frequently.

Played here on October 11th and play here every fall on my vacation. I really like this course. You'll see reviews talking about the small old clubhouse or the age of different items but the course is HARD! It is super tight but very interesting. It's historical claim is that it was Nixon"s favorite course in the area. Huh.
It is a step above a muni course but no it's not on the TPC rotation. Greens were excellent when I was there and all other areas were solid. Put away the driver on many holes and do what the course demands. it is a placement course with little to no forgiveness on slices or hooks. But it has great layout. Some very Star Wars like tunnels under freeways a local pizza parlor at a tee box that you can ring a door bell on the back fence to get food and drink from actually handed over the fence(awesome!) interesting houses throughout the course and really cool people everywhere. And did I mention it's HARD. There's a par 3 172(?) yds that is STRAIGHT up a hill a BIG hill. WTF do I do with that? Great elevated dogleg right hole forget the number. This course is one of those reasonably priced worthwhile places that winds up becoming a personal mission. I'll be back next year maybe multiple times.
