Late to the party played 4/1 and 4/5 1245 tee time using teeoff deal time with discount code $25 and easy 345 POP. The course still has multiple construction projects with lot of dirt being moved and to add to the entertainment there is also a Caltrans effort using some major heavy equipment alog nthe rote between holes 3 and 4. Irrigation lines are being replaced on a sequential basis and currently #4 is closed. A new tee box is being created on what is currently #9(1st hole on east side of freeway thru the tunnel) and an area has been created for employee parking as the current parking lot has 2 large modular structures 1 for the proshop and 1 for restroom facilities as the current club house is being demolished 4/9.
Fairways are varied in condition 4 of them have really good cover another 4 have some bood areas and some not so much and the rest are mostly winter thin. Overall lies were quite playable. Rough was generally short and in places skimpy and a few thicker longer areas on some slopes and around some greens. Most bunkers have ample sand and now rakes which for the most part were unused. Tees are generally in poor condition.
Greens rolled well at medium fast speeds, mostly smooth but with occasional imperfections like healing ball marks or old holes.
Staff friendly and welcoming as usual.

Looking to play some where "different" and Shorecliffs certainly meets that criteria. I play here every few years, mostly because it is not that far from home, is inexpensive, and the staff is always friendly and I can generally get out without to much difficulty.

The recent review by Gary pretty much sums it up. Course has never been great, but seems to have slipped a bit condition wise. Even the greens, which usually are the best part of this course, were not as good as times past. Fairways were a mix of thin, decent and uncut areas. Rough was the same way, bare/thin/thick.

I never know what to expect when I play here, as every time they seem to change things. If you're looking to play a confusing golf course, Shorecliffs is the place to go.

3/22 1245 tee off deal time $26 with a 4 hr POP with a little waiting early then some struggles of our own slowed us down and with no one behind us fell into a very comfortable relaxed pace. There are still many projects underway so the course looks torn up around the edges. Fairways are a mix of dormant cover mostly firm and more on the thin side with some patches of nice grass. Rough is generally short except for some areas where there is a lot of watering going on. Tees tended to be hard and many uneven. From the view outside of the bunkers there seemed to be ample groomed sand.
Greens were fir medium fast and not as smooth as remembered. Had not played here for a couple of months and overall the course seems to have slipped a little as more resources are being directed toward the over haul and that along with winter conditions makes it seem rather tattered.
Friendly welcoming staff, DR with mats. Newer carts but no GPS.

11/4 1245 tee time using teeoff deal time with discount $22 POP just under 4. Current conditions are marginal. There is so much construction/re-design going on that many areas have a devastated look. There has been a lot of brush and tree removal, some of which helps keep the ball in play but some like along 1, 6, 7, 8 has removed the growth to the point that it looks quite rugged and reveals a muddy stream as well as showing the adjoining fairways. Some of the work was done to remove non native species but it really looks stark for now.
Fairways are in late summer condition, some are quite good while others have thin areas. Tees generally poor and bunkers have been groomed but are covid stressed. Rough cut down for now.
Greens are slowly recovering but still about n2 weeks away from being good.
Staff friendly and welcoming as usual.

10/9 teeoff deal time $29 POP just under 4 but felt slower as we a 2some followed a 4some with 1 very deliberate player that also did a lot of backtracking to get his club on the green and fiddled with getting his clubs into the cart--just looked bad but as stated pace was not that bad--group could have let us through as the course was clear ahead.
Fairways remain in good shape overall, some thin areas and some with nixed grasses but lies were good 95% of the time. Rough cut down to about an inch. Tees thin and many slanted. Bunkers in prime covid shape, recently groomed but well traveled.
Greens quick but showing some effect from the heat, with pitch marks some thin areas and some spots having been repaired.

9/ 16 using teeoff deal time $31 POP 410 fairly busy 1100 time following a 5some and a slowish 4some. Fairways are still ok overall with some brownish areas and still pretty good cover. Rough about 2 inches mostly thick enough to make it interesting. Bunkers mostly groomed with covid conditions and varying sand quality. Tees thin many slanted to some degree.
Greens are again the highlight for the course mostly healthy mostly smooth rolling medium fast. Some pins in places I have never seen before often nears the periphery and often tucked behind bunkers for front placements.
Course is still a major construction mode so aesthetics are not so good. Still a fun tricky layout with accuracy a premium.

8/18 really nice POP 315--fairways getting enough water and provide good lies but not as much roll out. Rough long and thick enough to really slow the ball but not overly penal to hit from. Tees have some issues some not level and overall mostly thin with some divot damage on the 3s. Bunkers groomed but covid restrictions leave traffic signs as the day goes on.
Greens are in heat damage prevention mode getting water and being cut a little longer for now resulting in more grain and a medium speed. Also on the softer side so very receptive.
Course is under going renovation and reconstruction so the aesthetics are an issue and with the current plan to keep 18 holes in play there are some holes that have been repurposed so to speak.
Conditions are not bad but don't expect that up scale look. Staff is still friendly and new carts are a plus.

7/27 POP 31/2 easy check in. Course is undergoing major renovations by replacing irrigation system and having done a complete re-do on all the tunnels. In order to keep 18 holes in play there are several modified holes with temp tee boxes and the use of additional greens that were added in anticipation of the construction. The fairways are quite good have been getting adequate water and provide really good lies at least 90% of the time. Rough varies from thin and clumpy to thick and juicy. Bunkers have deep thick sand but are covid condition so we did smooth and place. Tee boxes are in poor shape many with slope and many beat up.
Greens continue to be some of the best around. Were recently crosscut but were still smooth.

6/17 wanted to get in a round with 18 holes open in between construction closures. Course will be front only starting 6/22 as the tunnel refurb will start and the laying of new irrigation piping will begin on the back. Fairways had ok cover but some were showing the lack of water due to the pipe project. Rough varied from thin to difficult, never too long but some places the ball would sink down enough affect the outcome. Tees often have some slope but otherwise ok. Bunkers appear recently groomed so ok early in day.
Greens not as smooth as usual. Speeds seemed to vary as they are hand watering.
Friendly staff. Current project is quite an undertaking so expect continued disruption. The work that has been completed shows a lot of attention to detail so when done and healed from the excavation it looks to have some potential.
