Greens have fully recovered from the punching, are rolling well, and receptive to well struck shots. have not regained all their speed however. (maybe keeping them long due to the heat?) The tees however are deteriorating, as many have severe divot damage? They do not seem to be "recovering" so lots of areas need attention. Greenside bunkers are as always, hit or miss.

Maintenance is trimming some of the areas adjacent to the fairways to provide better visuals, particularly on forced carries.

With the North course tees all under construction, you would look to the South course for good conditions, but they just punched and sanded all the greens and they are borderline unputtable. The rest... Continue »

With the North course tees all under construction, you would look to the South course for good conditions, but they just punched and sanded all the greens and they are borderline unputtable. The rest of the course is in very nice condition, even most of the greenside bunkers.

If I can just make through to August, both should be fine. I think that I'll continue to play away more often over the next couple weeks.

Teed off at first light to stay ahead of maintenance. Lots of watering, which I suspect is in anticipation of the upcoming heat over the weekend.

Course is in fine condition right now, with the greens rolling very true. Not very crowded which surprised me? Maybe everyone stayed home to watch the US Open?

Due to the "Windmill Classic" tournament, greens were quicker than normal, because of being double cut and rolled, but since these greens are so much more flat than the North course, still not too bad... Continue »

Due to the "Windmill Classic" tournament, greens were quicker than normal, because of being double cut and rolled, but since these greens are so much more flat than the North course, still not too bad so long as you did not get above the cup or "shot side" yourself

Course was well prepared and enjoyable to play. There is however almost zero rough on many holes, which is unusual.

This is my favorite time of year to lay Coto because maintenance does not begin until 5:30 and I can tee off before that and stay ahead of them, so I don't have to deal with then cutting greens, changing pins, raking bunkers, etc, on too many of the holes, plus its nice to be finished by 8 o'clock.

Course is in nice shape right now. Could use a little more water on the fairways, but otherwise no real complaints. Green speeds seem to vary from day to day ???. Depends if they roll them or not!

Finally caught a group on #8, but they allowed me to play through so no issues with pace. Still can't figure out why nobody was playing on such a beautiful weather day? Both courses in very nice condition right now. Let's see if that lasts when the heat arrives?

Because the South course was "closed" for the Spring Classic tournament shot gun at 8:30, I had to really hump to finish before it began. Maybe I should have used a cart, but that's not like me as I prefer to walk. However it this case it was more like a sprint.

As expected the course was in very good condition as it was prepared for the tournament. Greens were not as quick as I thought they'd be? Still very cool in the morning. (45 degrees when I teed off) but warmed up quickly. The overnight drizzle kept things looking green. It would be nice if it could rain every evening to keep things looking good.

Despite the very warm weather, still rather chilly at 6am. Because the north course is closed this week for maintenance, much busier on the south! Greens rolling really nicely, fairways looking green and fairly lush. Greenside bunker sand much improved. Overall, course is in pretty good shape right now.

They will be closing this course the week of 2/22/16 to punch the greens, so trying to enjoy them while they're still smooth and true.

Greens are really good, Rough is dormant, but fairways are pretty green, like the contrast.
