The customer service in their Pro Shop (management of) left something to be desired.

We had an 8 AM tee time on Saturday the 13th and were checking in an hour in advance. The line for check-in wound all the way out to the front door. There was only one person at the front desk (doing the best he could) to check in players for their 3 9-hole courses. When their sales person arrived, he looked at the line and dissappeared into an office instead of pitching in.

The length of the line and the long wait solicited some angry words when an out-of-towner who didn't allow sufficient time and was seen to be cutting in the line. He was late for 7:07 time but still received an angry ear full. Their "Cart Girl" finally filled in to help out. This this seems to have occurred every time I have played there... so allow enough time!

Otherwise the course was in good condition and the pace of play was good.

Haven't played here since last summer and I found the course(Presidio/Mission) in great shape with the following exception; the front half of the greens have been aerated and should be "healed" within 7-10 days but still very playable. The greens are soft and fast but NOT as fast as the putting green. Fairways are in better than average condition. Good sand in the traps. A special word about the starter, friendly, cheerful and helpful. Pace of play was just over 4 hours. Lots of workers on the course but they were very courteous and did not affect play.

We played Mission/Friars with the Torrey Pines Mens Club on 3/8/13.

I have been a critic of Riverwalk because of the poor conditions recently, but the course was in pretty good condition. The greens were soft, pure and fast, and it was noticeable that they are working hard to improve the course. While there were workers on the course, they were very courteous and didn't impact play.

The rough is still pretty "rough", but the bunkers, greens and fairways were nice. Especially the greens. They were super smooth. The only problem was that the speeds were too fast for some of the greens. Shots above the holes were a often a sure three putt, if missed. And I even heard of a five putt on Friars. I had a three putt from four feet above one hole. But I made a lot of putts to make up for it.

The service was great! They even had an outside bar-b-q set up for us with burgers, dogs and deli sandwiches. Torrey Pines would never do that.

Given the poor conditions at many of the local courses these days, Riverwalk should be commended for the efforts that they're showing to improve the course and experience.

They are punching later this month, but say that they are punching 1/2 the green, at a time.

Played Presidio/Mission on 1/31, course was in great shape. We were paired with two members that play there 3-4 days a week & they complained here and there about the condition. Personally i was shocked at the condition for the middle of winter. The fairways were perfect & lush, the greens were quite fast. Overall, with resident rates, i was pleased & will play again. With 3, 9-hole tracks to stitch together, you'll always have a new experience there.

Played today 12-26... Fairways green...bunkers were wet from rain but still played nice...The rough is impossible right now. First off, its pga long... and to add to the difficulty, it was wet from rain. I have never seen the rough at Riverwalk so penal. Greens rolled great.

Played yesterday in the snowman scramble. Great tournament - free beer on one of the holes, well organized and ton of fun for all.

Played yesterday in the snowman scramble. Great tournament - free beer on one of the holes, well organized and ton of fun for all.

Happy to report the conditions of this course have dramatically changed for the better. There used to be a lot of bare spots on fairways and divots on the greens but not anymore.

Would return.

Played Dec 1. Paid $65.99, greens were OK (lots of ball marks but rolled pretty true), fairways and rough were in pretty bad shape, lots of bare spots, every fairway produced a different lie. Tee boxes were either overgrown or completely bare. Pace was pretty slow but it was a Saturday. Wouldn't pay more than $40 for the course, has definitely seen better days.

Sunday afternoon 11/18, 52 bucks. The course has seen better days. Greens are nice and quick, but the overall condition of the course leaves a lot to be desired for the green fee.

My playing partner and I agreed we wouldn't pay more than 50 bucks at primetime Sat morning for this course. Unfortunately, you won't get that price.

It typically plays pretty slow, although today we finished in 4 hours. The fairways were very dry, with a lot of grass missing in spots. Tee boxes were ugly.

Usually this course is groomed to perfect during winter, not sure if this is just part of the growing cycle, but d%mn , I was disappointed.

For 50 bucks it was ok, but not good value. Cart girl seemed to be on a permanent break.
