Played on a Mon. afternoon. Had the course to ourselves it seemed. The course is not real varied but its a fun layout with some beautiful vistas. Walked in under4 hrs. There are 3 tee boxes where your shooting between the trees and it gives it a unique challenge. Lots of bunkers that make tee shots in the fairway a must. The grass around bunkers is deep so its almost better to be in the trap than next to it. It got windy but not enough to affect play.

Had a deal to play here for $45 anytime. The course is in immaculate condition. Absolutely perfect! Beautiful views of mountains, vineyards, the old mission. There is enough challenge in the layout to make you really think about club selection and shot choice. Pace of play midweek was rockin! Marshall was definitely in evidence even midweek. Clubhouse is a popular dining place. Pro Shop was very helpful. Nice course- will definitely play there again without hesitation!

Played 4/26 9 am shotgun. 4:30 round. just before the punching... greens were nice. course surprisingly soggy in some areas, maybe 3 or 4 holes at the landing area. calm for the first 2 hours. but then picked up pretty good, 20mph, the rest of the round. like the course, in pretty good shape other than already mentioned.

Played the course the first time in March 09. Beautiful location and layout. HOWEVER, the wind plays havoc on the game. We teed off at 11:30 and wind was a factor all day. All but 2 holes run east-west orientation, so you either were loving the downwind shots or punching low under the wind (if you were lucky). The facilities were convenient, although more water coolers would be nice. The pro shop had a thin supply of goods and the starter failed to call us to the tee. The driving range is on the far west side of the course and is acceptable as a warmup area. The putting green and sand bunker near Hole 1 is an excellent location and feel for what I would encounter on the course. Overall, I would play this course again, even at the higher price than I normally play for a Sunday golf round.

Played sunday the 15th, teed off about 2 in the afternoon and had no one around us. It's always nice to get up there and enjoy the surroundings, no houses, roads, BS, country golf. Course was in beautiful shape, greens a wee bit slow but true. Always one of my top picks for a day escape. Play it if you get the chance.

We played Friday 1/30 at 10:30am in absolutely perfect weather. The course did have a frost delay till 8:30 but wasn't too crowded and we very rarely had to wait to play a shot. Mid-day temps were in the upper 70's so perfect for shorts in January!

The course was in very good condition with the greens fast and firm and the tee boxes mostly level. They are doing some repair on some tees but they kept the work off to the side and the workers were very accommodating. This track plays well without the severe length and winds of nearby La Purisma.

We sampled a tuna and cheese sandwich at mid-course and found the cheese to be much better than the usual processed types. Very good and made to order..a welcome change from the usual pre-made and wrapped fare of many courses.

This course is always well kept and makes a visit to Solvang an opportunity to play just down the road. Highly recommended and worth the trip. You'll like it.

The course is in good condition with the exception of the tee boxes. They were overgrown, but more importantly NOT level. It felt like the ball was above my feet all day long. I ran into a local who plays the course regularly and he noted that's always the primary complaint. They need to re-grade the boxes. Aside from that, this is a real enjoyable course. The 12th hole is an elevated tee box with a great view and very makeable birdie. However, be careful on the 15th, a short par four. If you fade your tee shot, as I did, you can't see where it will finish. As I followed the cart path around the wooded area I found my ball - 30 feet from a practice putting green! Yikes! You can't see the green or clubhouse from the tee box, but a errant drive...and yep they're possibly in play.

This is a very good course to play if you're in the area. It has a real casual feel, decent facilities and great staff.

Played sat 7/5, walked on at 5pm as a 2 some and played 9... skipped around to avoid waiting... course in excellent shape, greens are moderately fast, slight breeze.
