Played 3/4/08 in PLGA Laughlin Open which accounts for time of round. Personnel were well prepared for tournament, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this course.

Played this course last year in june and it was real nice, went again 6/07 and what a differance, this course is in terrible shape.
The fairways are so dried out that they are actually cracking, it looked like the surface of some distant planet. As for the rest of the course it wasn't much better. I have played many desert courses and love them but this course is off my list. If you are in the area and want to play a nice course drive yourself over to Avi it is great shape.

Boring Course, hairy greens, fairways just ok.
GPS didn't work for first few holes, they said it was broken, then started up after awhile. Nice People/employees - very helpful.

Played on Friday, March 9. The course was in great shape with the annual rye grass grown in nicely; a couple of fairways did have some bare areas, but those were easily avoided . Greens rolled true but were firm; it was difficult to hold any low shots. Pace of play was outstanding, about three and a half hours. I will post some pictures asap.

Played twilight on Oct 20th with a buddy, of course twilight time we got some windy conditions but what a great course, friendly staff. A big group was ahead of us so the starter let us tee off from 10. Greens were pretty hairy but they were not bumpy, just had to adjust to hitting it harder. I wish I could play here in about 2 weeks when the greens have been rolled and cut back. I will be back.

I play here at least 2 times a year. Go in the heat of summer to get good rates. Wind can be a factor with this and all the courses in the area. The fairways and greens tend to be firm; plan to hit 'em high or run 'em up in the wind. Plenty of lateral water hazards and a very tough #17 green which is surrounded on three sides by water. New club house and restaurant has replaced the construction trailer/proshop/snack bar. Friendly, country club atmosphere.

Played on 7/11/06. The course is in good shape. The greens roled well although the course did do some patch work to a few greens due to cutting them too thin too early. The previous reviewer commented on narrow fairways. Just shows how different people perceive things differently. I found the course to be fairly open off the tee. With 3 mens tees ranging from 6,019 to 7,115 yards the course is a fair challenge to all levels of golfers.

Enjoyable. Back nine was much more interesting then front nine. Good mix of easy and difficult holes. Greens fair. Fairways tight so keep it straight off the tee. Driver not always the best choice. Pace of Play was great. Course is flat so a walking option should be allowed. Worth the green fee. Will play again.

Cousre is new. Did not care for the stone landscaping just outside of the rough, came into play way to much

A work in progress. I didn't like red gravel instead of rough.Very exposed, very windy when I played. Not worth the $59 twilight fee. Glad i didn't pay full rate.

Grizzly99 - Corona
I played the course last month. It’s a new course that needs some time to mature but already a lot better then nearby Desert Lakes and maybe a small step below Mohave Resort. I haven’t played Laughlin Ranch yet so no comment. Something I liked right away about the place was the people. Despite the trailer clubhouse and $5.50 microwaved chicken sandwich, should have got the hot dog, everyone around made us feel comfortable. I was glad the starter went out of his way to inform us about the automatic kill switch on the carts if you enter the desert surroundings or get too close to the greens. Kudus to the staff. I really liked the course, very fair, straight forward, challenging, flat layout, and nice greens despite the thin brown spots on some. Holes are spread out nice and the place really tests your iron game. Some excellent challenging risk reward par 5’s. Hole 17, par 5, is the best hole on the course. Some real par 4’s to contend with, 13 is a bear. What I liked about the layout was no gimmick holes. Everything sets up nice off the tee and on approach so you can visualize shots well. The course allows you to play bump and runs. Too many new courses over juice the greenside areas so it’s lob wedge city. Only negatives was no clubhouse and some construction. Will play again next time in town.

I love El Rio country Club. The staff is outstanding and the Golf Course is a great chalenge and fun to play. Everybody should add this to their must play list. The 17th hole is great.
