For a Municipal, this place is pretty good. For what used to be a landfill, this place is great...There's two distinct characteristics about Cave Creek, the front has a typical out and in feel, which welcomes errant shots off the tee. We've all been there, shooting at the fourth green from the 2nd fairway. Which in some cases, is a nice break from Desert Golf and the innumerable amount of balls purchased. Your best scoring opportunities is on most of the front, excluding 8 and 9.

Number 8 is one of my favorite holes in all of Arizona, as it reveals whatever you're doing wrong and multiplies it. Seems simple enough, and some days it is. You'll have to see for yourself.

The back has a completely different feel...It's like San Marcos in a lot of ways...Very mature trees and somewhat isolated. Water hazards when you don't expect it and some fun "canyon" shots to mix it up a bit.

There's two important things to remember...One, they don't give a price break in the Summer...And two, get a white cart (runs on propane) because the electric ones run out all the time and the staff doesn't seem to mind too much.

Have fun out there!
