Played at Dairycreek for the first time on 7/15/07. Very playable course with water and creek hazzards. Wind comes into play often. During the summer the rough is cut down as anything not watered becomes "California Golden". If you hit off line watch carefully as these areas tend to be hilly and the ball will travel a long way. Greens hold fine but the speeds vary. Pace of play is very good with little waiting.

The fairways are pretty tough under the grass with a more then a fair share of bare spots. If you don't mind making your clubs shoot sparks then this is a good course for you. I perfer to drop my ball back onto grass covered areas. The soil on this course is very tough almost adobe like and after a heavy rain it will create under water grass puddles on the fairways and more then normal amount of the greens.

Wind is also a challenge out here since it runs thru the SLO Valley you can get some very strong wind gusts and will no doubt challenge your ability to on those long shots to the green.

Over all this is a great course that is the newest of the 3 County Courses and is looking better and better each time I play it. The grass conditions and browness of the fairways can't be blamed on the course keeps in most cases. Soil and water costs is more sutible for such reasons.

Had not played here in some time and was very pleased. This course was not one of my Fav's but after this round, I will be back. Very pleased to see the conditions so good from tee to green. Not a long course but lots of elevation and slope that causes errant tee shots to roll way out into nasty stuff. Food was great, staff was cool, and the price is wonderful. Very happy to see this county course come around and begin to mature into a fun layout.

I played here last week on my way to So-Cal and was impressed. The course has few trees, but makes great use of the hills, arroyos, ponds and creek to create an interesting, and very enjoyable golf experience. This feels a lot like Cinnabar Hills in San Jose, another excellent design by John Harbottle. It is not long (blue 6158 yards, gold 6548) but it does provide a reasonable challenge (blue slope 123, gold 127).

I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course, too. For a low priced ($34), local course, it was in great condition. The fairways were reasonably plush, the greens were fairly large and green (few brown patches or problem areas) and rolled true. The practice facilities (putting green, chipping green, range) were also in good condition.

Dairy Creek has got to be one of the best golfing values in California. I'm looking forward to the next time I can play here.

Still a great course on the Central Coast. For the money, it's a great play. Greens are in great shape, which makes up for some wear and tear on a few fairways and tee boxes. Great views, challenging elevation changes, excellent variety of holes. I don't like finishing on a par-3, but that's a minor complaint at this course. Be prepared to hit it straight!

A better than average course in the Central Coast area that is just off the beaten path. This is a very good beginner's course and it shows by the normal clientele that frequent the course. Luckily, it is not too crowded and you can have an enjoyable round of golf without worrying about too much.
