Played 7/31 early afternoon. Excellent off peak Sunday rate, paid $28 to walk and a small bucket of balls, great deal! the greens were firm and medium fast, very puttable. The fairways/tees were in good, but not excellent condition. The rough can be very punitive and thick... and a few feet away can be hardpan, so it's hit/miss there. Practice facility where you can hit balls plus putt/chip, which is a plus in my book. Hilly, windy course that for the price is an excellent value. I'll be back when in the area.

Drove 2+ hours up the coast and within 15 minutes of getting out of the car was matched up with a 3some and on the 1st tee. Nice layout, reminds me of a shorter (with less trees/more water) slightly less demanding version of La Purisima. Windy and up/down hills every hole. The greens putted well, above average speed, smooth and many greens have pin positions that could result in severe breaks. In the places where there is rough, the rough gives this course it's teeth. Thick, deep and at least a 1/2 shot penalty. You could be 5' away from your ball and not see it in many places. To provide a different look/feel, there were other areas where if you missed the fairway you were on hardpan.

Difficult course to walk, very hilly. There were also numerous holes where it was a hike from one green to the next tee (Think Rustic Canyon in Ventira Co. or Mt. Woodson in S.D. Co.) The fairways and tees were + for late October, traps generally well maintained. No tricked up holes, numerous risk/reward holes, Enjoyed the experience!

This is a fun course. Can get a bit windy at times, but a beautiful layout throughout the San Luis Obispo hill side. The greens are challenging and there are enough tight fairways to make you think.... Continue »

This is a fun course. Can get a bit windy at times, but a beautiful layout throughout the San Luis Obispo hill side. The greens are challenging and there are enough tight fairways to make you think. Dairy Creek is a great mixture of SLO's amazing country side and challenging golf. Have fun people!

I played Saturday morning. I thought that the course was in great shape. The greens putted true. I enjoyed seeing eagles soaring overhead and all of the wild turkeys roaming the course. My group had a great time.

Played this course when it first opened and it was great. Played it few weeks ago after 2:30pm - it was $50 and not worth $50 at all. Fairways are really bare and was a 5 1/2 hour round with NO mars... Continue »

Played this course when it first opened and it was great. Played it few weeks ago after 2:30pm - it was $50 and not worth $50 at all. Fairways are really bare and was a 5 1/2 hour round with NO marshalls in sight. There were groups in front of us just playing around, not any idea how to behave on a golf course. Driving their cart practically on the greens. Hitting tons off the tee. I wouldn't play it again. Play Morro Bay Muni instead.

Played Sunday July 19th -- arrived as a single at 8am and was off by 8:20 in a twosome. Finished in 4 hours. This time of year is hot, so start early if you can. The name dscribes the course - a former dairy farm with a creek that runs thru the property. The course features many elevation changes that creates many natural hazzards. Also, the afternoon wind must be accounted for in short selection.

This course is 10 minutes from SLO. Fun track.

It was very clear where most people hit there approach shots from on some holes via the divots and alot of the grass is already california golden even though it was only Feb. The tees and greens were very well taken care of its the spaces inbetween that could have used some more work, but for a municipal and the green fees it really was bad at all. Overall the course is really nice I guess I just wish they would water the fairways and roughs more.

Played Dairy Creek this past Friday. Due to the rain, we basically had the whole course to ourselves, which was awesome. Not sure how crowded it would have normally been. It is a well-kept, public course that is well suited for beginners and more experienced players. They also made a mean hot dog. I'd definitely come back to Dairy Creek the next time I'm in the SLO area.
