Fairways in great shape for the amount of play this place receives. 4.5 hour round which is not bad for a Sunday morning.

Played 3/13. Greens were fairly soft and accepted shots quite well. They were a little bumpy, but not too bad. The fairways were plush. Rough was medium length and it was definitely a penalty to be in it. The bunkers' new sand is finally starting to compact a little and is not so fluffy. Most of the Tee Boxes have very bad divot damage and need a lot of work. Overall, the course is in pretty good shape.

Played early a.m. on 3/2/03. The overall course condition was good. Everything was on the lush side - probably due to the recent rains obviously. The lushness of the fairways yielded virtually no roll on the fairways, making for some long Par 4s. Some of the tee boxes were still scruffy, and the bunkers need more sand. The greens were in terrific shape and quite consistent. On a nice clear day like Sunday, it is as beautiful a setting as you'll get in SoCal.

Played this morning at 7:00 AM. Fairways were in great condition (well trimmed and few divot marks) and greens were rolling smooth and slow (moist greens). Tee boxes on some of the holes were a little beat up. Bunkers were in great shape. It was cold and moist this morning, but warmed up around 7:45 AM.

The #1 course has a great layout for an older style course. If only it was better maintained. Right now the course condition is very inconsistent. Some traps have almost no sand. Others have so much sand in them the ball becomes buried even rolling in. Most of the tee boxes are pretty scruffy or even worse. The fairways are fairly lush, but inconsistent. You don't get much run on your drives. The greens were the best part of the course today. They were fairly smooth and held approach shots coming in. This course gets heavy tournament play. Wish it was better maintained.
