Played masters - us open courses. Course in excellent shape. Greens punched two weeks ago not fully recovered, but give it a week or two. Still ran fairly true. Fairways were great no bad lies. Sand was wet and heavy but very playable. POP was about 4 hours. Great customer service and cart girl rotated through twice per nine. Looking forward to playing again next month

Played the Master-Western rotation. Course was in nice condition, but not nearly as good as the last time I played here, last year. I had not played the Western nine in many years, and now I remember why I didn't care for Braemar. The Master/US Open nines are OK, but the Westren nine holes are just not good. Too many blind shots and not enough definition in off the tee to dictate where your shot needs to be placed.

Second off, so after playing through a twosome on #5, zipped around the rest of the course very quickly. Had a great time, despite playing poorly. Staff was great and weather/traffic from the OC co-operated, so all's good.

Note: Since I normally walk, sure glad I took a cart, because the distance to get to and around the Western nine holes was ridiculous.

Had a chance to return to Braemar but sadly this time, was not too impressed on one of the courses. We were assigned Masters/Western as our rotation of the 3 9 hole courses.

Had a chance to return to Braemar but sadly this time, was not too impressed on one of the courses. We were assigned Masters/Western as our rotation of the 3 9 hole courses.

1st tee of the Masters course is pretty impressive. With an elevated tee ground, and hitting into the wind can be pretty challenging and what is a 350 yard hole can easily feel like a 420 yard debacle. Still, it is quite emjoyable to play the Masters course.

The Western course on the other hand was quite disappointing. A lot of the holes are pretty narrow as they seem to run out land to build this course. And the conditions were horrible. The fairways on a lot of the holes had big patches of bare ground or thinned grass where you can see the topsoil on many many areas. I can imagine it would be hard to maintain this side of the course due to the limited area.

Both courses had lots of water stations filled with clean and cold water. Plastic cups were plentiful.

They had a driving range and pretty decent practice area.

Overall, still had a great time playing here. I would recommend playing USOpen and Masters and forget the other 9 hole.

Played this morning on a beautiful day. I really like the new 27 hole layout and especially the new driving range and practice area, which was lacking for so many years. Have had the pleasure of playing here for many years with friends who are members and must say, today was one of the most beautiful days weather wise I have experienced. I don't think much was lost in making this a 27 hole layout from what it was. We played the Masters/US Open nines today and they were in great shape. Love the square pattern cutting they do in the fairways. Anyways, the tees, fairways, greens were in outstanding shape. Happy to be able to play this course on a semi regular basis, as it is so enjoyable.

It's been a number of years since I last played here. (Had 36 holes then) Played Masters/US Open. The course was in excellent condition, very well manicured, except for the greenside bunkers. which were almost identical to my course ( Coto de Caza) Compacted damp sand which does not allow you to get that "thump" when you blast out. Maybe it's a Club Corp thing? That's the one aspect of Coto which I dislike and was disappointed to find it here too !

Staff was great. Nice weather, views, pace wasn't too bad ( 3:15min ) Fun days but since I am a walker and this course lends itself to carts, glad it's not my home course. Still had a very nice experience.

Lots of elevation changes and several tiered greens.

Greens were immaculate and smooth. Fast and deceptive.

Fairways and tee boxes were in great shape.

STaff were pleasant as always.
Facilities include a driving range, short game practice area and putting green.

Always a fun place to play.

Played today and was very impressed with the changes from two 18 hole layouts to three 9 hole layouts. Course now consists of Masters 9 (East) US Open 9 (Center) Western 9 (West). These names represent the wins by Ralph Guldahl (look him up) who won the 37/38 US Open and 39 Masters. Very impressed with the practice facilities they have added, which now include driving range, short game area and putting greens. Having played here in the past on both 18's I was very interested to see what they had done to bring the course to 27 holes. The first thing I noticed was the condition of the course. The fairways are cut and manicured very nicely and provided excellent lies all round long. Greens are superb, holding and running at 10/11. Sand in bunkers is very playable and of excellent quality. They removed many trees and brush along the course, making the fairways much more playable. And redid all the tee boxes to a great level of consistency. Masters 9 (we did not play US Open 9) appeared to be the same opening 9 as the previous East opening 9 with the exception of a new # 6 hole par 3 that was a great design. The big changes I noticed were on the Western 9 with the removal of hole # 1, # 2 (used for driving range), making # 3 a tough par 4 now instead of the former par 5 and making that the # 1 hole of the Western 9. #2 and # 3 (the old 4/5) were not changed (thank goodness). #6 is now gone as is the great #7 par 3 and the dogleg # 8 all replaced with a par 3 that becomes # 4. # 5 which was # 9 has been lengthened into a tremendously long uphill par 5. Unfortunately they removed the great par 3 # 15 (which those of you who played here remember) kept the down hill # 16 with water in front as #9. Number 17 and 18 on the West were removed entirely. In ending I will say the changes reflected were very good indeed. The course seems more playable and in much better condition than previously. For those of you who have played the prior 18's but have not been back, please do. For those of you who have not played here, I hope you get the opportunity. Yes you do need to play here with a member, or maybe in a tournament but I can say but cannot divulge, the cost to play with a member was less (yes less) than some of our upscale public courses in S CA ( I was surprised to say the least). I do hope you get to play this great course and enjoy the course as well as the views.

An interesting 27 hole track here. You do 2 of their 3 9's for your round. Nice conditions tee to green, but the layout is something. Started out with a very short par 4, and some easy holes on the Center 9, but for the Western, it got tough with a bunch of blind tee shots. Not a place I will likely return since it is private and you need to join a member to play, and my member only visits once a year.
Customer services is outstanding here. Dress code is strict and enforced. It is a riding course as well.
