Played at 9AM Saturday, 3/22/08 on a sunny warm day. Was told course is having problems with their sprinkler system - sprinlkers were running intermittently around the course in the misddle of play, and much of the fairways, greens, rough, and sand were very wet. The wet, lush rough was difficult to hit from, and greens were inconsistent in terms of speed and holding shots. No GPS, no yardage book, no ranger. Plenty of water. A good deal for the price in St. George.

Played 6-19-07.
Always one of my favorite courses anywhere! Greens are fast, fairways are lush, the rough is penalizing, bunkers are firm but playable and the tee boxes are in fine shape.
Enjoy the first five (relatively soft) holes, especially #5 which is a beautiful short par 3 over a canyon, because #6 is easily one of the toughest par 4's anywhere. After that true menace, the golf really kicks in with hazards, bunkers and elevation changes galore. Hit the fairways at all cost.
Check out the little bungalow just left of the 17th green. You will want to move in immediately...

Played Sunday morning, 5/21/07, on a sunny day with only light breezes. Course was in very good condition throughout – greens recently aerated and a little soft but rolled well. Some greens had small bare areas. Several fairways roped off. Pace was generally good. No cart girl, but plenty of water available. Back nine features a variety of styles, with wetlands, lakes, up and down arroyos, and gargantuan homes and construction. Recommended.

Played early on 10/1. Mixture of pedestrian holes through a housing development, a couple of interesting canyon holes, and a few holes over and around the extensive wetlands areas throughout the course that were apparently created when the course was built. Several holes roped off while course overseeds a few holes at a time – those holes had some bare or very wet areas that had to be played around. Greens were generally in good shape and very quick down the canyon toward town. Canyon holes 5 and 6 were pretty spectacular, especially #5, a par 3 over a 100-foot deep gorge to a perched green with red rock mountains in the background. Back nine has several holes that play along or over lakes, then finishes by scrambling up and down a hillside and over arroyos. No yardage book or GPS, but course is fairly well marked. Friendly ranger, but clubhouse staff fairly indifferent – we were warming up on the range, so clubhouse let the twosome we were supposed to join tee off, and wound up with several twosomes strung out to start the day. Older couple playing speed golf pushed us unmercifully until we let them play through on #8. Generally recommended. Apparently, no one in Utah fills a divot or fixes a ballmark. We could have spent 15 minutes on each green fixing marks, and used an entire canister of divot mix on each hole. A stunning lack of attitude by the very people who complain loudest about course conditions.

green spring has a terrific layout. the playing conditions are generally good (but rarely immaculate). in my opinion, the course is one of the best values in the st. george area.
