Since conditions dont change overnight [which were all in the 9/10 range thought I would review practice facilities/clubhouse/food/staff and amenities at Rams Hill. Our group which played back to back days were treated like royalty at Rams Hill. Our first day we had a player in our group not feeling well by hole 4. Marshall with a friendly smile had frozen grapes, electrolyte sticks, extra bottle waters and extra ice for the cooler. During the Golfmoose Event Sat we had the complimentary tacos and shaved ice at the Ramshack right next to 14 tee. The cartbarn kids were friendly loaded the bags and gave us extra water. Resturant staff were great. Our group had the breakfast burritos both mornings and lunch right after the event. Food amazing with very friendly staff. If u like to drink they had a large bar overlooking the signature 18th hole. Practice facilities included a elevated range on grass with Prov1s and a seperate chipping green just right of the 1st tee. The resturant has a outdoor patio during cooler months for groups to hang out. I did see a shower in the restroom for folks to use if they please. Lining the fairways were individual/houses/casitas for a group to rent as they have stay and play packages. Due to the layout which is great I can see why the social media buzz of making this a buddies trip or girls trip or couples trip is mentioned. Rams Hill closed at 430pm so if needing to eat later in the day our group ate at Carlees in downtown Borrego Springs which has an extensive menu. Proshop had an adequate amount of merchandise and the proshop provides tees, ballmarks, etc. If looking to book a stay and play as a group would Highly recommend this place. » Close Rode the blues today under 110 degree weather with cloud cover from time to time joined by buddies Ron, John and Matt in 4 hrs 15 minutes. Great practice facility with pro v1s.
My third time here and the conditions were stellar today. Cant believe how lush the fairways, tees and rough were with the hot climate out here. Golfmoose event players are in for a treat.
Bermuda greens were very healthy. Putting pure and maybe a 10 on the stimp. Soft and receptive on approaches. Rated 8.5/10. Many swales and undulations on these beauties
Fairways in great shape. Lush full and a 9/10
Tees level lush and in great shape. Rated 9/10
Rough in great shape. Ball sinks down but still playable. Rated 9/10
Was in fairway bunker on 11 perfect compact sand.
Very fun challenging course that does not punish you but makes you golf your ball
Defense of course is numerous fairway and greenside bunkers and undulating big greens
Highly recommended and can see why its a destination course » Close Walked the blues late morning around 1145am with my buddy Matt just as a twosome finishing in 4 hrs catching the end of the senior men's club. Great POP today under humid conditions to start that turned into a nice cool breeze on the back nine with a high maybe around 80 degrees pretty much perfect weather. We got lucky and caught no rain but heard they had a downpour today further south where we live in the Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, Simi corridor. Olivas is in great shape and the way the emerald rough, tees and fairways looked mixed in with some beautiful humidity clouds was stunning. Today was greenskeeper appreciation day and man should the super be appreciated out here. Fairways were just perfect lush padded surfaces. 8.5/10 Tees level, lush and perfectly cut and manicured. 8/10 Rough was beautiful just off the fairways and at a nice challenging length without being to penal. 8.5/10 Greens were in great shape being very receptive and soft on irons yet medium to quick pace on putts. 8/10 Neither I or playing partner was in any bunkers. I would highly recommend getting out to Olivas while we still are in summer/fall to experience premium papsulum lush fairways, beautiful rough and great greens. Highly recommended! » Close Walked the oranges today 8/31/26 at 11:10am with my buddy Matt in 4 hrs under hot conditions around 87 degrees. Nobody out here today we didn't wait until we caught a group on the last couple holes. Friendly staff, putting green closed today with mats on the range. We ate at their restaurant after the round. They have very good food here. The fairways were in very nice shape mostly all green padded perfect lies with just some brown spots here and there due to the recent heatwave. Rated 8/10 Rough was mowed down and manageable just off the fairways and in great shape. Looks like they are working on the area right of the cartpath on 12...currently a field of dirt.. Rated 8.5/10 Tees all level and lush and in good shape. They were working on 4 tee box and 13 tee box so the markers were up on those holes. Was in greenside bunkers on 3 and 8 that were raked and looked thin to the naked eye but contained just enough sand underneath. Rated 8/10 The greens were very healthy and VERY slow. They are keeping them long during this heatwave. They are losing a little section of the front section of number 5 green so hope they can remedy that soon. If u like throwing iron darts at soft slow greens these are for you! Rated 6.5/10 Just love the layout here. Hopefully with cooler weather they will cut and roll the greens. Beautiful mixture of 3s ,4s and 5s at Soule! Highly recommended! » Close Rode the blues this morning 8/24/26 as part of the Vivid/GK Golfmoose event under hot conditions for Somis almost 90 degrees. Joined by buddies John, Ron and Matt. Great run event with smooth check in and a nice warm up area with two practice greens and an elevated range on mats. Greens were in great shape. I have seen them quicker around us open qualifying time here but they were still pretty quick with pure rolls. Due to the heat there were a couple sections of real dry patches creeping in like the middle of 17 green. Rated 8.5/10 Fairways just in great shape perfect lies. Rated 9/10. Nasty rough today probably the thickest I have seen out here. Balls would nestle way down just off the fairways and would catch barely off struck drives like a catchers mitt. Very long but in very good shape. Rated 8.5/10 Tees were in very good shape with no issues. Rated 8.5/10 Was in greenside bunker on 1 and fairway bunker on 16. High quality raked perfect sand here. Rated 8.5/10 Love this golf course. You have to golf your ball well here to score well here. Plenty of bunkers, red and white penalty areas and rough to challenge the best of players. Members are blessed here! If you have a chance to play here jump on the opportunity to! » Close
