Walked the blues late morning around 1145am with my buddy Matt just as a twosome finishing in 4 hrs catching the end of the senior men's club. Great POP today under humid conditions to start that turned into a nice cool breeze on the back nine with a high maybe around 80 degrees pretty much perfect weather. We got lucky and caught no rain but heard they had a downpour today further south where we live in the Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, Simi corridor.
Olivas is in great shape and the way the emerald rough, tees and fairways looked mixed in with some beautiful humidity clouds was stunning. Today was greenskeeper appreciation day and man should the super be appreciated out here.
Fairways were just perfect lush padded surfaces. 8.5/10
Tees level, lush and perfectly cut and manicured. 8/10
Rough was beautiful just off the fairways and at a nice challenging length without being to penal. 8.5/10
Greens were in great shape being very receptive and soft on irons yet medium to quick pace on putts. 8/10
Neither I or playing partner was in any bunkers.
I would highly recommend getting out to Olivas while we still are in summer/fall to experience premium papsulum lush
fairways, beautiful rough and great greens.
Highly recommended!
