My first time here and one of the few privates I have not played in the surrounding area. Starting off with the amenities and practice areas. Met by very friendly pro shop staff. Ate at the grill. Good food. Had time for a quick warm up on their all grass range. Noticed they have a really cool grass chipping area with a pyramid of golf balls waiting for you, get there early to use the practice facilties. They had two putting greens that pretty much matched and mirrored the speed of the greens. The putting greens overlook the beautiful 9th hole and 5th fairway. Our group was let out about 20 minutes early and we waited just here and there for the group in front of us. I can see members on a non busy day getting around here in just about 3 hrs. I was plesantly surprised by the layout. I really loved every single hole on the back nine and I would say other than hole 9 for big hitters you can pound driver here off every tee. I found the layout to be fun, challenging and other than hole 3 no blind shots and a course that is right there in front of you. I really enjoyed the par 4 4th, 11th, 13th and 17th holes. A great course where you need to at times on a handful of tee shots work the driver both ways. Not an overally tight course like Sunset Hills, Malibu etc but tight enough to make you golf your ball. I was lucky to play the same ball for the entire round. The layout contained numerous fairway and greenside bunkers to avoid and several penalty areas lining both sides of the fairway. A couple strong par 3s and some great elevated tee shots. For sure worth a membership here for golf. The greens were in great shape rolling pure, receptive and soft as far as landing your irons. Several of the green complexes had false fronts and slopes to navigate your putts. If I had to guess around 10 on the stimp. Our group did repair and fix about 5 to 8 fresh ballmarks per green. Overall rating 9/10 Fairways on the first couple holes were tighter and drier than say the last 15 holes which were just beautifully padded lush grass. They provide divot mix on the carts and out in some of the fairways which is a nice touch. Fairways overall solid 9/10. Tees nice and level and lush in great shape. Rated 9/10. Loved the sand. Was in 3 greenside bunkers with perfectly raked pancake soft fluffy material. Rarely do I see bunkers above or at an 8.5 which Im rating these at. Rough was healthy just a little longer than the fairways. Rated 9/10 Golfmoose/Vivid players are in for a treat for the upcoming outing. Highly recommended. » Close Walked the blues this morning in group 1b with buddies John, Ron and Mark under beautiful weather conditions about 70 degrees with a up to 10mph breez... » MoreWalked the blues this morning in group 1b with buddies John, Ron and Mark under beautiful weather conditions about 70 degrees with a up to 10mph breeze that felt great. About 110 player Golfmoose/Vivid event that had POP about 5 hours. We actually hardly waited at all for the twosome in front of us. My third time playing here and the conditions were the best that I have seen them in 3 rounds out here,, The fairways were very lush with perfect lies. Rated 9/10. Very little to no problem areas. The rains the last two months have really made this place lush. The rough was also gorgeous, thick and in very nice shape. Long enough for your ball to sit down but not to long where you couldn't advance it or put it on the green. Rated 8.5/10 Tees were also very lush, level and in great shape. Rated 9/10 Greens were very pure with no blemishes and semi quick, maybe a 10.5 on the stimp. They have some bigger sloped greens with a nice mix of bunkering at times guarding the green complexes. Green rating 9/10. Was in 2 greenside bunkers and 1 Fairway bunker that were in good shape. Rated 8/10 Play for position here at Las posas and be smart on the par 5 7th hole, par 5 10th hole and par 5 12th hole to try and make birdie the conventional way. Holes 3, 10, 12, 16 and 17 make you work the ball off the tee both ways. Couple long par 3s from the tips on the front nine. I love the 18th hole where you can let one rip with the driver and get some hang time on your drive. Fun course. I would recommend eating at Oscar's restaurant right to the right of 18 green. Great burritos and wraps. » Close Walked the blues this morning 3/2/26 under perfect scoring conditions with hardly any wind and temps around 71 degrees. Played with 3 nice singles and even though pop was just under 5 hours didn't seem to bad.
Had not played here in about 14 months and really miss this course. It's in fabulous shape and I can understand why tee times are hard to come by especially for a twosome through foursome.
The greens were in fabulous shape running medium to quick speeds probably a 10.5 on the stimp, Holding shots nicely. Just a joy to putt on. Very undulating greens here. Good Lag putting is a must. Rated 9/10
These fairways are thick and lush with not lots of runout. Terrific lies to compress irons on. Rated 8.5/10
Tees very lush and mostly level. Rated 8.5/10
Rough lining the greens in pga tour shape 10/10. Fairway rough much improved since I have been out here in the 8/10 range.
Was only in one bunker all day that had damper sand from sprinkler/water run off.
One of the best courses in socal, mentioned in all the golf magazines. If u get a weather day like today it's even more magical.

Met by friendly pro shop staff, hit a few balls on their grass range and chipping area and were off right on time.
Wow wow wow if you like pure lush conditions you will love it out here. The best I have seen the course look in some time.
Greens were in beautiful shape, quick on downhillers, great consistent speed on flat and uphill putts. We spun a couple iron shots back so they were the perfect combination of receptive yet pure and quick putting wise. We had alot of #4 back pin placements today. Rating the greens a solid 9/10.
Best I have seen the fairways in a while here. Lush city everywhere in the 9/10 range. They are working on 10 Fairway by the 150 yd pole as that area is sandy from the recent rainstorm runoff.
Tees were all level, lush and in great shape. 9/10
Rough was very beautiful and thick, At first glance it might look benign but it has some good grab to it. Rough rating 9/10.
Was not in any bunkers but they all looked raked and beautiful.
There is a reason this is my favorite golf course. Great conditions, challenging, peaceful, never a POP issue and usually cooler weather. If you want to test yourself come out and play.
Can't recommend this one enough. » Close Rode the blues this morning in group 1b with buddies Ron, John and Mark under perfect weather conditions 75 degrees and hardly any wind. 127 player G... » MoreRode the blues this morning in group 1b with buddies Ron, John and Mark under perfect weather conditions 75 degrees and hardly any wind. 127 player Golfmoose/Vivid event had POP at 5 hours 20 minutes but it didn't seem to bad. Greens were terrific pure glass, quick maybe a 12 on the stimp. Firm on approaches but still receptive. Giving the greens a 10/10 rating. Fairways nicely padded with tighter lies and very green. Lots of rain last couple weeks and staff do a great job. Rated 8/10 I thought the rough was in very good shape. Long, lush and thick. Beautiful greenside rough in the 9/10 range. Tees were level and in good shape. Rated 8/10 Was in 4 greenside bunkers that varied from thinner sand on the front that was adequate and beautiful thicker sand on the back. Rated 7/10 This is the best back nine in Ventura County. Terrific golf course that is both fun and very challenging at the same time. Highly recommended! » Close
